**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

its supposed to be 1.3v but as you've seen they are anywhere upto 1.4v
that I've seen running 1450 on the core on air and higher on water.

There's a couple guys modding the bios's for anyone who wants theirs doing, seems like most ppl are giving the finger and pushing their cards to the max
and to hell with the resulting blown cards.(not many reported though)

I did look for you PGI as you helped me with my water cooling but I culdn't find anything you didn't already know about your LTG. Have you tried to email MSI and say "You are happy to void your warranty" or would you rather keep it in tact?

I could, but as it is MSI need evidence that I am a recognised overclocker and will do testing with sub zero cooling, of which I'm neither, that said they do give you up to 1.8v core 2v memory, I don't need that much power on either, 1.4v is all I need for the core and memory is already at 1950mhz with 1.675v.

I'll have a dig about some more on the 680 Lightning voltage situation, I know Svet @ MSI has a tool for changing the bios parameters, though if this allows you to set a higher voltage limit I don't know.

1.4v on a 680 with watercooling should be interesting to see, may even see one push towards 1500mhz.

Edit: Finally found some MOA version of afterburner higher than 1.6 (2.1.0). The dates tell me it MIGHT work with my Lightning, time to find out!

I will fix my sig today :) Also, a big thanks for your help on clocking to 5.0ghz. I now have a stable 24/7 5ghz CPU thanks to you :) Ran prime95 for an hour anyways.

I have had my computer in and out and back apart so much recently, to do another run involves me taking the monitor cables out and unless somebody beats my SLI score, that aint happening. If I leave the monitor cables in, it does lower the score.

I have not played FSX yet as all the tweaking and proper cable management is still on going. I have not played anything yet :( but I look forward to once all the settings/cables are perfect, I can play some games.

Thanks again for your help in making the magic 5Ghz Neil.

Now if I get a bottleneck...Meh!!!

What changes did you make to get it to 5.0ghz

Its very impressive at that vcore.

Had to up the VCCSA from 1.12 to 1.2. Everything else was spot on or a tincy bit lower than the settings WhyScotty gave me.

Vcore 1.495
VTT 1.18
VCCSA 1.2
PLL 1.85

My mem is clocked to 2333 with 11 12 12 30 2 timings (pretty slack).

Try take it up to 2400mhz with those timings, perhaps drop the CR down to 1T. 2400mhz on strap:

102.9 BCLK
125 strap
18.66 memory multiplier/divider.

Im currently at (I think, I'll have to check) 11-13-11-30-1T @ 2400mhz. I Might give those voltage settings you listed a whirl on my 3820, all those listed for me are on auto.

As I said earlier your Vcore 1.495 is very impressive (I think it shows one of the benefits of using a proper watercooled loop)

I use
Vcore 1.55
VTT 1.10
VCCSA 1.10
PLL 1.80

Next time I build a system I think I will give watercooling a go. Fortunately 99.9% of the time I run @4.0ghz so the Vcore is a lot lower.

I'm tempted to hop over to X79, looks more fun overclocking.

It is you should give it a go plus X79 will be with us for a few years yet.

I will have a play with those settings to see if I can squeeze some more out of the memory. I did try tighter timings but no joy :(

It is fun but then again, you have your CPU @ 5.0 so no benefit IMO.

I ran prime95 for around an hour (few mins less maybe) on 5.0 and temps were never over 65c on any of the cores. No lock ups/crashes/BSODs so that was good enough for me. Seems to be a good chip overall and I look forward to reinstalling FSX and seeing the difference. I did fire up BF3 and still both GPU's wouldn't hit 99%... Scotty linked to a site (can't remember off hand what one) that said it is the drivers at fault and Nvidia acknowledge this. No probs though as it was smooth with very good fps.

Water cooling was something I wanted to do but was afraid of the "old water and electric" thing. Some great guys on here like PGI and WhyScotty made it easier with some great info/specs though :)

Attention 680 owners!!

Stumbled accross something that may interest you all, google "artmoney afterburner". Some kind of hex based hack to add what ever volts you like to a 680 :)

Investigating if it works for the 7970, as it is i'm not sure, and probably can't tell until I get a multimeter back home with me.

Well I guess I am being seriously thick. I can understand how it works and have found a detailed description but have no idea how to "search"...I have read pages and pages but know it is me on an off day :(

I am very interested in this though and more so when I get my LTG's under water.

I think you need to find the .amt file the relates to the Lightning, from what I can make out it adjusts the vgpu on the fly with some hex work arounds.

No such joy for the 7970 side of things, if anything MSI mods are being rather snotty about it.

I can't seem to get it to go above the +100mv. I followed instructions to the tee as well :( I am doing something wrong but I will suss it.
