Yeah that's my next aim.

All I have done so far is press the oc genie button on the motherboard that gives me 4.2Ghz and then once in windows I increase the multiplier to 44 to give me 4.4Ghz, bit lazy with the cpu overclock so far

I wouldnt personally settle for any less than 4.9-5.1 for benchmarking!

Also, try to overclock manually, auto tends to over-compensate with voltages which might not be good for your stuff. And you shouldnt change multipliers in windows!

Well if you can come and get my i7 4770K to 4.9-5.1Ghz air cooled then you can have it :D

Would be happy to get to 4.5Ghz, the gains in benchmarks though over 4.4Ghz are going to be small.

hey no excuses, i did 5.3GHz 1.625v on my 8350 Vishera and a Phanteks 14PE cooler.

Not sure how that's related to overclocking an i7 4770K, as I sure you know well

From what I can gather from bit of research getting to 4.6Ghz would be very good on air and also require a good chip.

De-lid bud ;)

Mind you, with my shaky old hands, I wouldn't do it :D
