**Official 3DMark 'Fire Strike' Leaderboard**

I was going to say, these tests were too easy for my 6950@stock as its breezing through the tests as they were in the 100-200fps, I think the ice storm test was going at 1000fps. Thats until it got to the fire strike benchmark, it couldnt get passed 15-20fps:D

Fire Strike score......... 3307:)

Yes sir, I sat through all the tests the very first time and thinking something was wrong with the amount of frames I was getting till I started the fire strike bench... :D

That first test gave my card coil whine such was the silly high fps i was getting. After running that once overclocked i knew i had to buy 3dmark to avoid every having to run it ever again.

Whats the tessellation thing? If it means disabling it in CCC then ill pass, that's cheating.

I think Scotty has taken early retirement. He's pushed his cards as far as they will go and only a new driver can improve his score. I think im pretty much at that stage now as well.

Who would have thought it hey? All this lightning this, matrix platinum that and the two fastest graphics card on ocuk and the world are two reference 7970 that can be bought for £299. Amen.

GG Proto, lets ensure we stay 1st and 2nd. Any intruders must be dealt with. (excluding Scotty) :D

That didn't last long. Still, not bad for MSI 7970's making up 3 out of the top 4 cards.

Also, running through steam messed up my old login, caution is advised in that regard.

I'm still not happy with the score, the gfx cards are KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 LTD OC V2 . The Core Clock on that page says it should be 1150MHz (GK104) yet the results say I've got 705 MHz. The link says Memory Clock: 6008MHz (Effective) and again the results page says I got 3,004 MHz. This was one of 2 "Ultima Custom" Intel Core i7 3960X 3.30GHz @ Stage 5 OC DDR3 Hex Core System we purchased early last summer.

I'm hoping you knowledgeable folks will put my mind at ease and say that the results are what I should be expecting.

For some reason, 3DMark never reads Nvidia cards correctly. I did my single card with 1414Mhz core and 4002 Memory. It read the memory correct but not the core.

It reads lots wrong with CPU speeds also.

Edit:

Comparing your score to mine, everything looks fine for those clock speeds. :)

Your problem is you are not running the 3960x fast enough, you really need to get close to 4.9-5.0ghz. Fast tuned memory also helps here.

As Gregster said 3dmark is famous for getting NV clocks wrong (but it is nothing to worry about)

Heres a link of my GTX 690 running on a 3960x as a guide for what to aim for.

I'm just running the Over clocking Profile that they did on the machine, I guess it's lower for more stability.

Just as we were making plans about going into retirement you get dragged back in.

I have to admit though i think im done now until the next driver comes out. If i had faster memory i could get a better score but im at my limit now.

Wow.....AWESOME score!!! Dude that's hilarious

Gregster you should have a lowest score in the top 10. This one would be in the top 5 at least;)

Ermmm not sure that is a good idea. People push their systems hard to get in the top 25 and would be a shame to put a rubbish score in place of their hard work. :)

I am impressed it could run it :D

Yeah, I'm pretty much done too. Might get a little higher with the faster memory and maybe a newer driver or if I went higher on the CPU I could get a little further.

Though, it's unlikely to be of much use against the x79 based systems as they'll always have that little extra in the tank.

It seem's like i've hit the wall on what my card can do now. its taking quite a lot of volts to get not a lot of MHz. i cant get much above 1200core stable on 1.3 and AB wont let me go higher (along with my wallet).

@Gregster take a look at post 728. it got me back into 3rd on top 7950 scores (just), but it'll be the last from me. :)
