** Official 680 review thread **

Nice.....just told one of my suppliers to order me two EVGA ones as soon as they become available.....he's sending me them FOC for all the business i've put his way over the last 5 years.

Looking forward to testing them out as im bored of my single GTX 470.

looks like its about 10% better and it overclocks by a similar amount...

Both camps should be happy.

I would say a points win to Nvidia on performance, but if you are running large monitors then I would still probably lean to the 7970.... cant help thinking the extra VRAM is worth having.

It think the video card fanboys are going to be very happy. Think about it. The GTX680 pretty much beats the 7970 in the majority of instances and it's priced either as low or lower which means AMD will be forced to start slashing prices on the 7970 and 7950.

Now I've been pretyy hard on Nvidia for the last few years but even I have to say this is really good showing from the green team and hopefully Nvidia's move towards efficiency and a smaller die size will mean we can have a repeat price war that we saw in the HD4000/200 era.

- tech power up

So the 680 isnt even top of the new generation range...

Err £400+ for a mid range card...........what do you think??

Not a bad card.

Was wondering if I would regret getting my 7950 crossfire, but I think at the price I got em, they still represent great value in comparison to 7970 and GTX 680, even if the prices drop a bit from where they are now.

I did want to go Nvidia, but I wasn't going to pay over £400 per card for the privilege.

Am sure those who get either of the current top end cards will be happy when prices go down over all.

Nice card from the Nvidia camp - unarguably taking the fastest single GPU crown.

Suprised it wasn't cheaper though considering it only has 2gb ram.

For those with the money - I don't think anyone will be dissapointed with a 7970 or a 680 - choice is do I want a card that's 10% faster or 50% more vram?

I think it will take a while for a 7950 crossfire setup to become useless!

We should all know by now, this IS what PC's are all about. You will only ever have the best hardware for about 6-12 months at a push.
