Indeed.I still don't get the point of folding, I have better things to spend my electrics monies on.
Edit: Will 6990 be 2X6950 or 2X6970?
Any idea what the 6870 is like for folding? Had a look through some of the reviews but haven't found anything.

There's hardly any gain from a 5850 to a 6870, or if there is, it's very minor and not worth spending money for in my opinion. In which case, if you're sticking with a single card, it'll be better to wait for the 69xx presuming you have the money to buy oneStick with my HD5850 and wait for 69xx or grab a 6870? hmmmm

Seems AMD shipped 2 different types of HD6850 to reviewers, they were supposed to have 960 shaders, some got 1120.

Of course this opens up the question as the whether any HD6850 can be unlocked.
