Purely for my own understanding and curiosity, what have you changed in order to 'disregard' the power limit? Also, what's the fan profile like for these bios?
Thanks

Kaboom increased the TDP limits using a bios editor then shared it with me and asked me to test it. I used it a for a while with good results. I then asked Tommy to test and use it for a bit then we posted it here for others to use. :)

Doh, will Trixx not work?

I've not tried it im afraid. I don't think it will but cannot confirm 100%.

Sorry I meant software.

My TF3 already manages 1050/1400 at 1.13, but I don't know how overclocking different manu cards in crossfire works.

TF3 should work with all of them. The HIS card will only work with His iTurbo unless you flash a bios from the OP. If you do that all of them should work with the HIS card.

Just recieved my 7950 ice q today going to pair it up with my gigabyte 7950 windforce. So far I know I have to put the ice q on top as it's more beneficial but I realised my psu doesn't have the extra 6 pin pcie connector for the second card. Is it ok to use the molex to PCI e adaptor that came with the gpu ?

yes

I have my second HIS 7950 Boost sitting here ready for my new PSU tomorrow. Am using the latest Beta drivers already and iTurbo running my current at 1100MHz core, I have UPLS disabled in iTurbo. Is there anything else I need to do apart from once the new PSU is installed and I plug in the second GPU, attached crossfire bridge, turn on crossfire in Catalyst and attempt to match the clocks of the first card?

I've not done any Bios flashing but they should be stable and fine regardless if i've been reading things right?

Cheers.

You'll either need the power limit hack or a bios flash as per the OP with those overclocks. Otherwise the cards will eventually throttle.

I'll do the bios method as don't fancy having to do it each time on reinstall.

Just to confirm (I have read the OP several times but theres 16 pages for me, something may have changed!) is "7. Download my bios. Extract it and cut and paste it into the usb stick" still the bios you would recommend? I won't do extreme overclocking but 1100MHZ should match Crossfired 7970 GHz so would be happy with that and I just want em stable!

Thanks.

Use this bios mate.

I will update the second post now and ask Tommy to update the OP shortly with this new bios. Everyone should be using this new one now as its the best because the need for power limit has almost completely been removed.

Nice to see some more tweaking with yet another BIOS, what are the improvements with this new one and what will I gain over the old custom 925/1250 aggressive fan profile BIOS? :)

TDP limit increase. You can now run overclocks of 1100/1500 at 0% power limit without any throttling/core de clocking. This means you can now overclock with ULPS enabled (power savings yay :D) and get almost no negative effect. You maybe lose 1-2% performance max, if that.
