Here's an example of what's going on with my card...

100% stock settings nothing changed... 71 Celsius, but clock speed is throttled badly.

100% stock settings apart from board power limit increased to 20% to remove throttling... 86 Celsius, then 2 seconds later my PC crashed with sound loop error.

I have opened a thread in the customer service part of the forum, with the above images and a link to this thread. Hopefully I can send this back in peace of mind that it WILL get swapped for one with a working cooler. :)

ur not the only one not to impressed with the cooling on these cards. 1050 1400mem. voltage could be anything ab says 1.069 hwinfo 1.18 iturbo1.150 trix 1.162. using 1000core 1400 bios atm. temps in bf3 75-80. running stock bios was hitting 80-85c. i have changed the thermal paste and had no change in temps what so ever.

As mentioned elsewhere in the thread, because this is a boost bios not a traditional bios, AB won't work unless you flash the BIOS. iTurbo is the suggested tool, or flash to put a non-boost BIOS on there.

my post was not to ask for help but to let southeastblue know he wasnt the only with temp probs. im aware ab does not read voltage correctly. i dnt think any of them do tbh. a voltage meter would be the only reading i would trust on that topic. feel free to re read my post and highlight wer i asked for help. then re read ur post below to spot ur mistake of telling me ab wont work unless i flash the bios.

I've read conflicting things about this cards cooler. It seems some have suffered with horrible temps and others have really good temps. I have no idea why my card is so hot, the heatsink was burning to touch which means it's doing its job by absorbing the heat from the GPU, and the fan is spinning and pushing hot air out the back. Either this cooler sucks or something weird is happening and seriously over powering the card to levels that the cooler can't deal with.

Wish I got the Twin Frozr III one tbh, I know that cooler is good.

tbh im happy enough with the oc i have on mine and the temps going no higher than 80c. i have flashed every bios i could find and this is the best i could manage so ill stick with it 80c on a gfx card aint the worst. as for the voltage who knows i dnt think any applications can be trusted with this card

I'm running two of these in crossfire in a Gigabyte Z87X-D3H which has decent PCI-E spacing. Currently at 1100/1400 in a Fractal Design R4 with a 140mm side fan (intake) and in Far Cry 3 last night I was getting 72c after about 30 minutes. I've got 2 Corsair SP120s at the front of the case and a 140mm fan at the rear ( main HDD cage removed) so air flow is decent. I'm fairly happy with those temps. When a decent BIOS comes out (one in post 2 doesn't work for me) I will try to lower the volts while keeping the same clocks.

HIS 7950 Ice-Q custom bios incoming, stand by.

Features of the Bios

*Boost clocks removed
*Boost voltage removed
*Stock clocks so should work with all HIS 7950 Ice-Q Cards
*925/1250 clocks with 1.175v voltage. Should be good for large overclocks while keeping cool.
*0.075v reduction in voltage from stock boost bios.
*Custom Fan profile specific to the bios
30c=30% fan speed
60c=60% fan speed
90c=100% fan speed
*50% power tune for life

Sent my card off to OCUK today so hopefully I will have a new card (or worse scenario my old one) to try this new BIOS with when I get home next weekend. :)

Fingers crossed you get sorted out.:)

The bios of everyones dreams is here. Tommy please add it along with features to the OP.

Bios created by Kaboom. His thread can be found here. All credits to him.

Good work matt and give Kaboom a thumbs up from the oCuk IceQ users, it's appreciated. :)

I'll update the thread tonight.

Well thats a little lower than I would have thought!

Most of the IceQ's are low Asic. :)

I've now switched over to the new 925/1250 bios. The custom fan profile suggested by me seems to be working very well. Three hours of bf3 with vsync off at 925/1250 @1.038v and highest temp was 62c on both gpu's. Fps up and around 80-150.
