Ive read lots of review about this card - some mentioned about noisy, too hot and much expensive but it still nice card design - I would rather leave it out until August-Sept or later -- I keep my 8800GTX just now and Im review next new card from ATI which will come up new Radeon HD 4xxx this summer and by next year new Radeon HD RV800 chipset also next Nvidia Geforce but it wont be release until late 2009 or middiel of 2010. I may interesting to see new ATi Radeon 4870x2 when it come out from June 2008... have to be very careful not to waste of money - take it time before buy good card to keep run longer.

I too am waiting for the ATi Radeon 4870x2 :)

These babies look like they will be good cards. Just hope they price them similarly to the 3870x2's.

I've had it benching at 777/1944/2300, set it at 725/1836/2200 for games. Seems fine so far. Can't get any decent 3dmark06 scores out of it in XP, I get 21.3K at stock, 4GHz quad. Increasing to 4.6Ghz 777/2300 and the score hardly changes. Vista seems the clocks actually change, but the scores are terrible, 22.5K 4.6Ghz 777/2300.

I really dont know how your getting those overclocks, ive started to see artifacts appearing at 734/1127/1803.

A question ive never seen really explained here: when overclocking a card and you start seeing small artifacts like small white pixels on large black areas whats that most likely to be the fault of, shaders or memory or core? And if your seeing larger objects that shouldnt be there or horizontal/vertical lines continuing off real object whats that likely to be? And ofc if you push the overclock and the card just crashes?

The problem is im overclocking without really knowing what things i can push compared to others. Any advice or explaination from someone knowledgable would be great.

Overclock one thing at a time.

E.G
find your core max overclock first
then shader
and then memory...

Yeah thanks..... but that doesnt really answer my question though, i was hoping someone would explain the impact each clock has on performance and how diferent artifacts/failures are linked to each clock.

I oc'd my card to 700 / 1100 and although it seems to run fine in Crysis benchmarks, 3dmark2006 just doesnt even start! to run when i click run benchmark. Left it back at stock.

I cannot believe some of the oc'ing some people say they are getting away with?

I'm waiting for my waterblock to come, no point ocing a card like this on air.

There's something odd about the clocks in XP, although it scores great at stock. Changing the clocks makes no differeance.

It clocks well in Vista, just keep an eye on temps. The clocks seem to stick, but 06 scores aren't that great at the moment.

Personally I'd wait for a copper block from EK.

Anyone know when the quad sli driver is out ?
Dissapointing results here in quad, when aa is used, which they say is due to the lack of memory and smaller bus :(
Am assuming this is just a regular driver.
Looking around users the quad SLi isn't working well on current drivers. Found this with 2x GX2 with similar scores to my single at higher clocks.

Oh yes Vista Quad drivers..Those [H] results I assume must be these 174.53 just released.

Of course no quad in XP, maybe these will overclock.

PS nice clocks there fornowagain esp the CPU. I manage 4Ghz stable on my E8400.

What RAM make are you using out of curiosty.

I just noticed too..they just added quad sli support and kept the driver revision the same..174.53. Apparently the UK whql ones are dated 18th March and the US ones are dated the 25th with Quad Sli support. So I am wondering is it drivers and/or lack of memory / 256bit bus that is killing the gx2 in quad sli on the hardocp review.

Its certainly working though, those minimums stalls look a bit nasty. Its a nightmare interpreting results from there, goalposts are all over the place.
