i will add you to my friends when your next on for some reason u cant add people if there offline which is a bit annoying .My in game name is littlechris. I just hope telemachus doesnt get over ran now.

If we get enough people intrested in a telemachus legion i will make one or some one else can. I ran a decent wow guild for awhile as well as guild wars so i have a bit of experiance but fairly new to aion and still learning stuff

Picked up this game, did not have a chance to try it yet, as I understand the OCUK guild is on a pretty busy server with long queues, are there any alternatives? Any other OCUK guild has been set up somewhere less crowded?
 
Well basicly ocuk is on the spata server which seems one of the more populated servers all the main legions have started on that it seems.

i got sick of the dc's and queues so i re rolled on telemachus which seems much better. The people see more friendly and and there seems to more chat which is usally at a mature level. I think the more casual players have picked telemachus and i get the feeling most of the mmo geeks are on spata (no offence to the people on there) everyone seems to be in a race and rush to level up and are too scared to log out incase they cant play.

As i said before If people are intrested as i said i will set up a legion on telemachus or some one else can and i'd be more then happy to join.

I wouldn't judge the quality of the population by general chat,
if the server is laggy then that is going to be the main topic. Ofcourse it is busy with people trying to level up, it is the head start. if anything the bigger server will have bigger and better guilds on it and a much better community overall, Trust me after playing Lineage2 and other MMOs you don't want to find you are on one of the lesser servers after 6 months leveling up.

while it doesn't matter for casual players, splitting people up onto 2 servers isn't the best idea. If the queue is really that bad for people then fair enough but I feel it will go and wouldn't want people to regret rolling on a random server a few months down the line.


Meh, I just don't feel it is as bad as everyone makes out, well it is quite bad but it is the lesser of the two evils.



didn't get to play last night due to working long hours but I will be on this evening.
 
Remember AION has been released for well over a year in other countries.

Stop comparing it to WoW and just enjoy it. Both are good games.
 
All i am saying telemachus seems a lot more laided back in terms of chat, i have seen very few afk shops compaired with spata and it be a good place to start for people who didnt getto play the betas much, where it seems like most the more expainced and hardcore players are on the same servers.

I have no douts the queues and wait times will get better on spata and will keep my char on that server.

Ncsoft seem quite experianced when it comes to rpgs and it helps that aion has been out a year, i cant see them letting populations drop with offering people the chance to move in a game so relient on pvp. I get the feelign ncsoft have a plan about how the want to handle and manage the game and the servers i jsut hope they dont bow to the pressure of the people on the forums and stick to there plan.

The main problem with wow is they tried to please everyone which of course is impossible others may dissagree but they had a awesome game but the slowly made it more and more easy, till the point it got borring. Where with aion i am finding the game much more challenging , when grinding u can easy find your self dead if your not awake or paying attention and thats how it should be. Unless its cause i jsut suck atm :)

I rolled on telemachus on tuesday night while waiting for spatalos to calm down...while i had no wait and got to lvl 10 on elyos in a couple of hours i had to turn off general chat as it was the most childish load of carp i ever saw on any MMO and i been on a few. Seems to be the kids cant wait play roll on here and spam (barrens chat anyone?). As said before dont judge a server on genral chat as this is what you get,im sure there is some decent people on there so maybe we should leave outthe OMG my server is uba coz the chat iz good innit :p
 
Thanks for the info, I think I'll roll on telemachus to start I don't know anything about the game so I'll try a few different combinations to learn about them and that will take me a moment so maybe then spata will have calmed down.

Which side do you play on telemachus ?

This seems as good a place as any to ask (after a quick search didn't come up with much)
But I think I'm right in assuming there is no Aion demo or "Can your PC play Aion" benchmark program ?

So without being too harsh on my aging little system, how bad will it run on my ....

4gb PC6400 ram
ATI 3850 512mb

On a secondary rig I have this...

8800GT 512Mb overclocked
Opteron 165 @ 2.8Ghz
2Gb RAM DDR

...and it gets average 30-40fps at 1920 x 1200 with no AA but medium to high details. Your GPU is a bit older than mine but your CPU and DDR2 RAM performs a lot better than my CPU and DDR1 RAM. As such, you should be able to play at the same, or probably better settings than I can on this 2nd rig :)

Ahhhh that's not too shabby.
Also considering that 1680*1050 is as high a resolution as my monitor goes it might do even better.

I'll probably be trying this game, but it'll be a month after it's out after all this queuing business has calmed down.

Queues with WoW on launch, did it with Warhammer online too... It's not worth the farse just yet haha.
 
Got my CE today, no loaf of bread so you'll have to make do with a Nakd bar :)
