***official amd 83x0 overclocking thread***

I was running my overclock just short on 5Ghz with only 1.404 voltage and passed IBT etc

2 day i tried for 5.5Ghz (failed) Loaded my profile for 5Ghz and reran IBT failed

had to up my volts and now its at 1.42v and passed IBt so dunno why that happened

Hi people i was adviced to come here for advice on the fx cpu. I have been inspired too switch from my original plan to build a i7 gaming pc too amd one by ALXAndy.

I am not quite back upto speed on computer tech but getting their hopefully

Is the 8320 as easy to overclock as a 8350? Will they reach the same speeds

The 9370 Seems to be pretty reasonable in price but requies a lot more power. What level of cooling do these requies? Do these chips have enougth benifit to justify the extra cost in purchasing and running?

How will the new kavari apu stock in all this

I guess it could be prime doing different things than IBT,not stressing the cpu as much

maybe some1 can explain with more technical terms i just keep it plain and simple :)

Seems abit quiet 2nite here but hang in there

Err ok 1 at a time...

1) Yes
2) Get the 8320, decent cooler
3) Great value tbh
4) It's an APU so will be a great all rounder but not as powerful as the above

Edge, the benefit of 8350 over 8320 is marginal.

With either, you ought to get at least an H100 CPU cooler if planning to overclock.

The 9370 reaches speeds that can be achieved fairly easily yourself with either an 8320 and 8350 if you have a decent board. So not worth going for the 9370 or 9590 really.
