Hi Guys
Some 5Ghz Goodness
Tried her under water today, big waste of time. With a twin rad and EK block (i already had so no cash spent) Temps were up higher than the Dark Rock Pro 2, so thats back on now.
Seen my temps get into the 80's at 5Ghz but hey for a £115 chip I'm not complaining.
Have her settled in at 4.8 with a 4 core turbo of 5Ghz need to enable C states now and enjoy some power saving!!
Most fun I've had since my Bulldozer back in 2011.
Right, had a good evening on BF3, running at 4.6Ghz and temps doing great, barely touching 50° on the core and socket not hitting 60°
So, why not try 4.7ghz? Half hour in and system crash. Ok fair enough, back to 4.6Ghz . . nope another system crash! This time BSOD!
Right, this is p*ssing me off. So finally, in hindsight I should have done this sooner, I download a bluescreen error reader. Both crashes, infact the last seven crashes were down to this driver - atikmdag.sys
Google tells me this is a display driver issue, anyone come accross it?
Yeh GPU is overclocked to 1200/1350. Power supply is a 600w Coolermaster silent pro, I thought that would be plenty?
I was on the 13.10 beta driver, but I've rolled back to the 13.9 which I think is an official release so maybe that might help?
You've got the 970 EVO board, right? 4.9GHz on that is great, you'd normally need a higher end board.
Take it you've stepped up from what you had?
