I think I may have spoke too soon though, as the cpu is throttling after about half an hour of prime blend
More tweaking needed.
I have 2 spectre pros in pull with the stock fans on the h100. I'm considering sending them back though and getting some NF-F12s or corsair SP120s for better performance.
yep, good luck with 5ghz! i cant do any better than 4.9ghz (but im still happy with that!)
May try and knock the vcore down a tad, but happy at the overclock
Nice result there!
Could do with sharing your working settings for others to compare. This is so itching the upgrade scratch for me now.
Nice that this thread has really picked up. Starting to look more like the old Phenom 2 black edition threads
Official AMD Piledriver Overclocking Thread?
Ah, to get it changed in the list maybe a moderator has to do it.
You're talking about 3x7970s? That's a huge amount of graphics power unless you're running on three screens or something.
Gah! I failed the BF3 test tonight, BSOD about 4 times in total, 3 of them at the same point in Exfiltration on Co-Op with a mate, so annoying. Dropped clocks back to 4.7, then 4.6, then 4.5, notched the GPU clocks down a bit, temps were all fine then realised . . RAM.
Have taken RAM back to 1300Mhz and no BSOD since but only played for half hour or so and run out of hours so will have to test again with RAM lowered and clocks back up to be sure that's the case though. God knows why this RAM is letting me down so much, I'm only running at the speed it was supposedly meant to be!
There's a strange amount of rubberducky's on there but no 86!
