so i couldn't sleep after these results! there poor something is wrong here guys so low on results.

everything is maxed out on graphics apart fom motion blur is off, and v-sync is on

do you agree its a bad overclock causing this or something else perhaps.

and if its overclock what you think could be causing it?

i got no lag or throttle back at all, i ran in windowed mode so i could watch temps and cpu-z for throttle.

im mythed here oc seams stable on aida64 for hrs, played battlefield no probs for couple hrs no lag ect

HELP! lol

dude your gonna fall off your chair here ready......

i thought that was individual fps for cpu and gpu lmao. told you i dnt know much bout computers atm

i feel so silly :o omg

so thats just usage oh got ya

thank god for that then was worried, may hide from here for few days in shame lol

yeah got vysnc on at 60 fps that 59 is just from me pausing it or level end, with vsync off iget 180

Yellow above green indicates CPU bottleneck and green above yellow indicates everything is fine. Spikes in either indicate instability...

so from this above does it mean gpu is holding me back?
if you look at pics mine is yellow above green

morning guys first of on the official thread info i have messaged the mods who oversea cpu section on a request for name change.

second the thread is coming along nicely

good to see your making progress orch

on my progress side i am still playing with 4.8 for my final overclock to get 100% stable and best temps possible, before i try for 5ghz

i have added a fan off the heatsink that comes with 8350 to the vrm heatsink,

and this is what i got temps wise, aida64 fpu test only

temps are cool now was hitting 67 on socket before and 50 on core, defo improvement in temps :D

Well AIDA64 been running for an hour and a half with no issues, a bit warm though so will notch down vcore, I'm only just over 4.7 now anyway.

Farmerboy how do you get those CPU/GPU overlays?

do a ghetto mod dude helped me lol

on bf3 you mean hit the button above tab and type in:-

RENDER.DRAWFPS 1 draws an FPS counter shown in green
RENDER.PERFOVERLAYENABLE 1 enables a CPU monitor
RENDER.PERVOVERLAYVISIBLE 1 shows the CPU Monitor ``

lower is better on graphs if you get lots of spikes means unstable :D

good luck dude

Nice one mate. Little boy's nap time soon so hopefully I can get an hours 'testing' in :D

Is there anything that shows you RAM stresses in game?

same here kids are having nap so playing around lol nap time ftw lol

on ram question not that im aware of google bf3 comand console i found a list of all diffrent things to pull up on screen, maybe one but i dnt recall seeing ram tbh

i used double sided tape for the fan its extra strong grip one fan is solid on there i dropped 6 degrees off maxed load and 4 degrees idle. if u have fan its worth doing imho

orch to answer this question " If it's CPU/GPU usuage surely it's way too low"?

Doing a quick google - those are just milliseconds in rendering times. The lower the better. Nothing to worry about, but huge spikes would indicate a problem. BF3 multiplayer hits the CPU quite hard, which is why you've got a couple of smaller spikes there.

hope that helps ya dude so lower is better :D

try ram at 1.6 mines at 1.55

rest look ok

mine are 22.5x multi
215 fsb
1680 mhz ram
2500 cpu/nb
2500 ht

may not work for u as every cpu different but i would say defo raise multi lower fsb i found anything over 230 fsb wasn't good for me temp wise

i had akasa venom medusa cpu cooler one of best i'd say at i would always hit 70+ plus at that high of a clock m8, water is way forward! whats your setting for llc?

i was told cpu/nb llc second one down in advanced tab should be on regular for air not high

i struggled so much on air and thought water wasn't much better but after setting my loop up properly you gain so much.

2 ways to go water or settle for less on air, 4.6ghz was where i was happy with temps on air.

remember your never gonna hit temps that prime chucks out so use aida64 see if its stable then run bf3 for few hours if all runs ok you good to . i only use prime to check volages are ok

Oh and it's under water, well closed loop anyway

already posted my post below by time i see you were on closed loop which one? as the 120 ones are much worse than high end air tbh i found.

they say for every component to have 120 rad plus 1 for head room so 240 minimum for the overclock ur aiming for, if you have a 120mm one for example antec khuler 620 then it'll run ok at stock or small overclock. But once fluid is hot in that small loop the rad will struggle to remove the heat quick enough. you need a bigger surface area rad ;)

my venom air cooler actually out performed the antec khuler 920 i had and it cost a lot less
