***Official AMD Mantle Thread***

Do we have a definitive list of games Mantle is in right now and playable on?

BF4 - How old is this now?
Sniper Elite 3 - Fairly decent game, decent single player mode, never tried MP
Thief - game was a bit of a letdown tbh
CiV Beyond Earth - Never tried it, although i have the previous CIV which i like
Plants vs Zombies - not tried this, is it any good?
Dragon Age Inquisition - Not tried this either, have the previous ones

Upcoming games -Star Citizen and BF Hardline

So thats a total of 6 current games and 2 future games, not so bad, decent mixture of game types too for the 6 current games. I have Star Citizen and it will hopefully be an amazing game, havent tried BF Hardline, is it the same engine as BF4?

Will Star Citizen still use Mantle once DX12 is available? im guessing so, but time will tell. Are there any other future games going to be using Mantle? its looking pretty shaky with the early DX12 indications to be fair.

Go on tommy! ;)

:D

Never thought I'd say this, but Mantles not bad actually.

It really is (now a believer)Gee:p, and that's just patched in Mantle, now, imagine full DX12 titles built ground up.:D

Got all Mantle titles bar Civ as it's not my thing, and DAO waiting until I complete others, performance really has been impressive in all of them and as I said I truly am exited for DX12, it's looking good and everyone finally getting Mantle/DX12 apis, Nvidia/AMD users are going to rave about it.:)

My one and only disappointment of Mantle personally is that (it's looking like)Rebellion walked away without adding mgpu support -not happy indeed, especially after talking it up big style on their SE3 Mantle fanfare(not interested who's fault it is btw:)), I tweeted them I don't know how many times btw and never as much as a reply:(

@Matt,
any chance you could get the team to look into mgpu support on SE3 and get some yes/no SE3 mgpu clarity?

What it really needs is to allow use of an overlay for measuring temps etc. One of the most important features for me.

I use AB OSD via my S4:

AfterBurner OSD- Unfortunately AfterBurner currently has no Mantle support, however you can install and run AfterBurner remote server and you can get almost all your OSD info displayed on your phone/tablet minus FPS and Vram usage.

Video instructions I found on how to set it up:

Well! Shine a ******* light. They even have Crossfire working with BF4 & no stutter. They may have a future yet  :p

Using the display on the G19 to monitor all the bits & bats so all's good.

AMD is a company that fundamentally believes in technologies unfettered by restrictive contracts, licensing fees, vendor lock-ins or other arbitrary hurdles to solving the big challenges in graphics and computing. Mantle was destined to follow suit, and it does so today as we proudly announce that the 450-page programming guide and API reference for Mantle will be available this month (March, 2015) at*www.amd.com/mantle.

*

This documentation will provide developers with a detailed look at the capabilities we’ve implemented and the design decisions we made, and we hope it will stimulate more discussion that leads to even better graphics API standards in the months and years ahead.

*

Proud moments also call for reflection, and today we are especially thoughtful about Mantle’s future. In the approaching era of DirectX® 12 and the Next-Generation OpenGL Initiative, AMD is helping to develop two incredibly powerful APIs that leverage many capabilities of the award-winning Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture.

*

AMD’s game development partners have similarly started to shift their focus, so it follows that 2015 will be a transitional year for Mantle. Our loyal customers are naturally curious what this transition might entail, and we wanted to share some thoughts with you on where we will be taking Mantle next:

AMD will continue to support our trusted partners that have committed to Mantle in future projects, like*Battlefield™ Hardline, with all the resources at our disposal.Mantle’s definition of “open” must widen. It already has, in fact. This vital effort has replaced our intention to release a public Mantle SDK, and you will learn the facts on Thursday, March 5 at*GDC 2015Mantle must take on new capabilities and evolve beyond mastery of the draw call. It will continue to serve AMD as a graphics innovation platform available to select partners with custom needs. The Mantle SDK also remains available to partners who register in this co-development and evaluation program. However, if you are a developer interested in Mantle "1.0" functionality, we suggest that you focus your attention on DirectX® 12 or GLnext.

R.i.p Mantle or Mantle Evolved?

Does mantle actually work properly yet on dragon age? I use direct x which runs perfectly apart from the occasional flashing textures with crossfire enabled but when I use mantle it seems to run slower...stutters...and will crash regulary still lol.

Sounds like it's using more video memory than you have available as it runs fine here on 8gb 290X cards. :)

A User.cfg file will give you the answers you seek.
