In light of the recent benchmark results showing us 33% ahead in the 3DMark API Overhead Feature Test we published a blog.

Yes. and i'm going to test it in the next few hours.

i have 3DMark and apparently that entitles me to the DX12 test. i also have Win10.
So i assume that AMD have a DX12 Driver waiting for me when i get Win10 running. yes?

Edit:
Yes, have done for a long time. Available Via Windows Update.

Looking forward to trying directx 12 am also very excited about windows 10 tbh..

The future of pc gaming is looking very good. Freesync, dx12, Mantle/vulcan..
All need now is 390x and x99 setup or skylake.

From everything i have Read, it points more and more to DX12's low abstraction features having their roots with mantle.

Nvidia can say they were working with MS on DX12 for years, but it does not mean they were working on the Low abstraction version of DX12 over that time. maybe the newer rendering features etc, if anything, or even just odd chats about what to do etc.

I am!
I'm hoping that DX12 will be in a game that I actually play!

Guess that sorta means I'm not a Mantle user...

We've not heard so much about how many games Mantle is in compared to DX11 at equal points in their lifetime or what upcoming games Mantle will be in. In fact the Mantle hype seems to have died down considerably recently...

A game just recently released with Mantle Hardline.. Until games stop coming it isn't dead.

Mantle quad gpu broken again in bf4 and da:i, but ironically it still works in pvz, lol?

Yes, I've made Dice aware a few days after the winter patch launched which was when Quad Mantle stopped working.

Dragon Age has been broken on Quad since launch and exhibits the same behaviour (720P white screen) as Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline. PvZ has always worked fine here too, but i think it's using an older Mantle build.

I'm hopeful it will be fixed in a future patch. If it does get fixed then it will probably work in Dragon Age and Hardline as well as they all use the same Mantle build.

Matt I'm having trouble with mantle in 2 card crossfire in bf4. I get texture flicker on the oil patches around the petrol tankers at c in operation firestorm and if I look at any fire fps just tanks into the 20s or less. With a single card I only get drops into the 40s albeit at lesser settings. Also when the helicopter lands with the sweary female soldier st the end of the penultimate mission in single player again fps just totally tanks. Again single card is much better. I'm running win 8.1, omegas, 16gigs samsung green, 2 x290s at stock, 3930k at 4.5(down clocked a bit to insure stability).

It is worth me upgrading to the betas, or are there things I can to in bf4 to try to sort it? I've verified and repaired game files already... Might clearing the cache help??

NDTV Gadgets spoke to AMD's chief gaming scientist Richard Huddy about low level API's, LiquidVR and Asynchronous Compute Shaders.

AMD contributed the Mantle API specification to the Khronos Group to serve as the foundation for the Vulkan graphics API. Vulkan is a cross-vendor, cross-OS, industry standard API that will realize the dream of cross-OS gameplay for millions of gamers,".

It's important to clarify that we're not retiring Mantle, nor is it going away. In 2015, the Mantle graphics API has broader applicability in solving graphics industry problems than ever before.

Mantle as a standalone API continues to evolve in private with a consortium of game developers interested in furthering the standard for new and innovative use cases..

He knows that.

Baiting/trolling?

You know what's happening with Mantle.

I don't know exactly, everything seems to be pretty vague. AMDMatt's post said it's not going away. Since AMD and it's customers seem to be so anti-proprietary I was just wondering when this would be made open for everyone.
I remember a lot of people on here saying it would be made open, even going as far a making bets, which they later changed their minds on after the deadline for 'going open' had past.

Since PhysX and GSync and everything is bad because it's restricted to Nvidia cards I was assuming that being an AMD product it wouldn't be proprietary. I just wondered when this would be? Or is it not happening and is proprietary ok now?
