*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

tbh prime does a great job at it for me. if it passes the 4-6hours mark i know i've done it... because before at the 4hour mark it use to always fail with 1600, also i couldn't even do 5 runs on IBT before..

I do IBT when I'm testing my RAM..
At the moment CL6 at 1400MHZ.
I'm pushing onto CL5, which I managed, just not entirely stable, so I'm doing that today.

whats the best OC i can expect on a 1055T without increasing volts, i need to keep the temp down.

Not very high to be honest.

Although, it's very easy to get like 3.8GHZ on decent voltages..
I'm going to rework my overclock over the weekend, so I'll give you some results.

Right now doing 20 passes at 3GB RAM at 5-6-5-16-20-T on my RAM.

so if you don't mind the tweaking and considering bulldozer is coming out soonish, i might aswell get the 1055T, as im running in a small case with bad airflow temps are important, the CPU will be under water but the setup is all ass about face.
The problem with my 920 was that even that i could clock it to 4Ghz easily, in my case it was causing thermal runaway due to the lack of airflow and could only clock it to 3.6 safely.
So what sort of temps are people getting on decent air at 3.6/3.8?
and what is the multiplier of the 1055T?

gareth170 ... nice going but looks like your temps are nearly the same as mine now with just about 5C-6C in it .. probably due to your ambients being a lot lower as you live in a fridge .. lol

lowest ambient temp I get during the evenings matchs your TMPIN1 but Im still 2C above your TMPIN2

did you see my post a couple pages back when I tested ram speed and settings ... temps were lower at DDR1333 with tight timings than ddr1600 and looser timings so Im wondering if the TMPIN2 is NB IMC combination guesstimate rather than an all out sensor

my system is definately far more stable with ram @ 1333 and tighter timings .. not had a freeze or unexpected reaction since but @1600 I was getting random freezes and glitches even after 8 hours prime

I am concerned about temps rising higher if we get a hottish summer so thinking of changing my case for a Fractual with its possibly better airflow and lower noise .. the 900 is getting rather noisy and not cooling as I would like and hoovers dust into the case better than a dyson

eeerrrrrrr ok what the blooming heck .. lol

a NB and a motherboard NB ???? thats got me confused but thats not hard .. so is the motherboard NB a real sensor and what exactly is it measuring ? .. the stuff under the heatpipe (SB to power circuits) or something in or around the cpu socket

is it something that needs to be kept under 62C or has it got a higher threshold ... cant say I have noticed any performance issues when it gets toasty but my cpu temp is always under 50C even when maxing out doing some encoding

adding extra case fans or to be more precise more intake fans did nothing to change the TMPIN2 temp so dont think air flow influences it

I'm surprised you have to use so much CPU-NB voltage to get 1600 stable on your CPU.

I've got 8GB stable at 1600 C9, CPU-NB @ 2600MHz - 1.125V.

That's with the CPU at 3.9Ghz.
