*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

sorry, it's actually 240x17

EDIT: prime failed again after seconds of testing with 1.25 and now 1.3 :S then eventually BSODed :
"a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval"

just the usual message I get in BSODs

CPU temp, just what I thought. Crystal clear, thanks again. There's no way I'm gonna make it to 4GHz with this cooler but I'm ok with 3.8 or 3.9 for now.

The FSB is at 240 to achieve 1600/CL9. If I set 800 in the BIOS for some odd reason the latencies are set to 11-11-11-30 by default. But I suppose you mean to tell me that It's better to keep the FSB low, increase the CPU and NB with the multipliers, and then with the RAM @ 1600 manually lower the latencies.

If that's the case, what difference does it make to have the FSB low please? less heat? in the CPU? the MOBO?

back to prime :)

Just manually set your latencies...

As Martini1991 says, keep your bus at 200MHz and just up the multi.

ok, my AMD Hyper Transport Link :p is back to 200 :)

Now regarding the lantencies, do I need to set all 17 values in the BIOS or is it enough with CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, tRC?

And what's that DH0/DH1 option there where I need to set all of them twice please?

Cool, cause I have no clue where I could have possibly found the rest.Ok, I saw that "memory" tag in AMD Overdrive with all the timings, but finding out what's tHGWQYFWV among those is a whole different story, hehe.

Really guys, thank you. Very much appreciated

on lower cpu-nb voltage/speed. 2.6ghz 1.225v...

cpu-nb at 3ghz is stable with 1.35v with only 2c temp increase

@Gareth: ok, but still some headroom there. looks like a rock solid clock.
I took ASUS probe as a reference to pick TMPIN0 as cpu temp, guess that's the only way to do it.

@martini: I'll try lowering latencies too, I'm even considering removing 2 sticks if I can get better performance/lower NB voltage, and also set command rate to 1T. I originally built my rig with 4Gb, then added 4 more in a desperate move to get Flight Simulator X to deliver a bit more, but I prolly don't need 8. FSX is a 32 bit app anyway
