*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

Im very impressed with how cool these CPUs are, im using the same case and cooling as my old I7 setup which was limited to 3.6 due to temps, my 1090T happily sits at 4Ghz with the same RAD and fans.

The only question i have is what voltages are safe for a 24/7 clock?

need 1.5Vcore for 4Ghz

wow, 1.5 and only maxed at 49ºC ?

I'm also testing now 4GHz & NB@2600 with my new case and the monster (aka nh-d14)
so far mid 50's, but at some point in CPU-Z the CPU freq dropped to 1600MHz for a couple of seconds... thermal throttling maybe?

could be throttling what sort of temps are you getting?

Im using exactly the same cooling as my old I7 setup, i couldn't get past 3.6 in my Matx case without hitting 80C, this chip is amazing im glad i switched...but on most benchies i have run the [email protected] beats the 1090T@ 4Ghz, but not by a lot and may be due to the triple memory (6Gb) and the memory speed i could run at (1600 cas7)

max: 57ºC, currently 55. weird cause in previous tests with my former cooler I never saw this throttle happening, even though temps were much higher.
it's a great chip, agreed. I plan to run it with 2 disabled cores if that can lower my temps and allow to reach 4.1 or 4.2 and 3GHz NB. Guess that would be the right scenario to compare benchmarks with i7's also

I'm playing with my fans now, trying to find my airflow sweet spot... well only thing that proved to be an awesome improvement was sticking a fan right behind the cpu backplate. 5-10 ºC lower!

nice voltage wish mine would run that low at 4..it will run 3.8 at that though.

also my HT will only let me set it above 2.6 if i up the bus clock speed, which makes my board unstable very quickly.

Ok guys, you might want to try the backplate fan if your case allows actually. I've been priming for 2 hours already. Max 49º at 4GHz & 2.6GHz NB... my RAM sticks feel like they're gonna melt down any minute though :D

I placed the stock cooler's fan behind the cpu, simple as that.
