*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

I find problem size 20000 gives your system a good test.

And don't run anything else other than Linx, if you are still getting the GFlops drops then it looks like throttling.

Other way to check is load up CPU-Z while you are testing, and keep an eye on the CPU multi and frequency.

he is using AMD overdrive to do that.

So, got my new 1055T all set up, gave it a quick blast of P95 to see where I stoot temp and voltage wise. Are these any good? Also, what temps should I be looking at, exactly? I think I remember TMPIN1 & 2 being the important ones which can't go over 62? If so, gives me about 15C to work with, and 1.33Vcore? That any good? And how high can I reasonably push that without it exploding?

Hi guys i got a reply from rjkoneill seems he was away when overclock was done anyway he gave me a list of things to try and change in bios. Heres a screen cap to see what you think.

ok and using LinX i got problem size set to 20389 and MAX RAM selected at 3188/3183 cant tell. done 5 runs so will post screen cap as soon as its done.

And noticed under full load core speeds drops to 1736.0MHz with Vcore at 1.452.

As suggested by rjkoneill CPU/NB Frequency is set at 1953 as couldnt get 2000. And CPU Vcore voltage is set at 1.471875. DRAM Command rate is 1T.

Are the GFlops supposed to be high or low?

i have a testbed based on your system set up next to me today, should be alble to get some more refined settings to you today. :)

When the speed drops, is it between tests? If so that's fine. If it is during tests then that is it throttling, either because the PWM is overheating (as these things draw a lot of power under full load), or the CPU is overheating.

That CPU-NB frequency is very low, with a CPU clock of 4GHz you are going to be losing a good chunk of performance, it really needs to be up @ 2.6GHz+, but that can be fixed after you've got your core clocks stable.

As for the GFlops, those look very low. I get around 67-69GFlops @ 3.6 @ Problem size 20000.

4GHz should be breaking 71-72GFlops at that problem size. So even with the performance lost from having a low CPU-NB you should be way higher than what you are getting. So that suggests throttling to me.

Make sure you run nothing else in the background while testing (CPU-Z/AMD Overdrive/HW Monitor are fine).

tomorrow i should be receiving my new Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 890FX motherboard...

does anyone know if this motherboard vdrops?

the motherboard i have now doesn't at all..

well i've got my Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 890FX setup, so far all is good. it seems like 4ghz only needs 1.40v. IBT pass 10 runs, later i'll run prime95 for 8 hours... also the board doesn't Vdroop at all..

next thing i need to get is a pci-e sound card. but tbh the onboard sound is really good for music/tv, very clear, also seems more deeper bass than my X-Fi Xtreme Gamer card, :D

Just be carefull with any drivers for Creative X-Fi cards i had to remove mine as the driver kept crashing Win 7 64bit. Having to use onboard now with only 5.1 as dont have the required cables for 7.1.

i've had no driver issues with my X-Fi Xtreme Gamer card which i've had for about 2 years now.

it's just ashame this motherboard only as 1 pci slot. so i gonna upgrade to a pci-e sound card
