*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

Funnily enough on the 95W part it's 71c :p
but i'm guessing that for stock has its lower voltage. but when u overclock/overvoltage i guess the max safe temp drops slight.

i guess same goes for the 125w version.

also if i undervoltage my 1090t to 1.15-1.175v i guess the max safe temp would be around 68-70c

maybe i'm totally wrong but this is the way i see it.

bit of advice for anyone with same motherboard as me

STAY CLEAR OF THE 1605 BIOS found on other forums (yes its a beta)

Can't get my system 4ghz stable with any sort of voltage increase

By that logic and overclocked 1090T will have its max safe temperatures under its rated 62c also.

When you're pushing a £225 CPU to the limit of what it can do, it makes logical sense to keep it as cool as you can, anything over 55C is pushing it IMO on a Phenom II.

Hi all,

I'm new here and have been reading this thread with some interest (well, to be honest i skipped the middle 20 pages or so).
I was originally looking to get something like this bundle:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-039-OB&groupid=43&catid=339&subcat=1803
But then spotted this one
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-038-OB&groupid=43&catid=339&subcat=1802
Is the AMD bundle really worth the extra £51?
What sort of power supply would I need to run these? Could the i3 bundle be run on a smaller/cheaper PSU? (I plan to run it with a 4870x2, 1 or 2 HDDs, an optical drive and a water-cooling pump)
While I expect to do a bit of everything I'm not going to kid myself that this will be anything other than a gaming rig, with a bit of video encoding on the side.
Which of these is likely to see the biggest benefit from water-cooling? (It's going to be my first attempt at water-cooling).

You're also probably wondering why I'm going for an overclocked bundle and not doing it myself. Well in short I've not had a lot of luck with overclocking this E6850 (on an ABit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI) and didn't want to water-cool a PC running at stock speeds.

Thanks for any advice.

Requesting CPU-Z screenshots of overlcocked 1055T at 3.80 and 4.0MHZ please. ;)

3.8GHz ;)

1606 BIOS is now officially available for the Asus M4A89GTDPro/USb3 - works a treat nice and stable

PS - Altered my overclock to 250x16 which allows me to have 2500Mhz on CPU-NB - yaay :D

Latest BIOS for M4A785TD-M EVO is also good. Can finally stop using AMD Overdrive for my OC. :D

What you should do is see if you can find someone selling one 2nd hand to save yourself some cash.

Yeah... :o

:D

since i've added another 200mm top fan to my case my cpu temp is now ~43c under prime load.

before it was ~50c under prime load.

4ghz 1.425v, 2.6ghz 1.25v NB

I can get prime stable with the following settings on my 1090T (4GHz @ 1.425 V, CPU-NB @ 2300 - 1.175V, MEM @ 1333 - 1.65V) but when I try upping the CPU-NB to 2600 Linx 0.6.4 fails. Would that normally indicate that I need more volts on the NB?

If so I have 2 NB voltage settings in my BIOS and want to double check that I am adjusting the right one. Is the correct one the one I have put a red box around?

Also what does TEMPIN2 monitor? My gets quite high but my TEMP1 only goes up to 53 during Linx.
Cheers

yes you'll need CPU-NB voltage for 2600mhz, try 1.225v that should make it stable.

TEMPIN2 monitors the motherboard NB chipset, or the case temp..

heres mine.

Got this chip yesterday with a CH IV Formula. Not done too much oc'ing yet just upped the fsb a little so I'm running about 3.8ghz at the moment.

Question is I'm idling at 12C. I'm using a Noctua NH-D14 and I know it's good but is it that good?!
