*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Anyone using a Coolermaster Realpower 700w PSU with this case? are the cables all long enough? Mobo will probably be a Asus P5Q.

Also, how loud is a GTX260 inside the case? I read that the cooler was pretty quiet anyway, so should be even better inside the p182?

Just a quick post to say that the Antec support is great. I recently bought a P182 from OcUK, but the lower chamber fan was broken. I e-mailed Antec support who asked for a scan on my reciept, which I did, and they instantly posted a brand new fan. Easy.

I've had a new P182 door and a Solo front panel posted to me free of charge from antec due to them being faulty. Excellent service, will be getting more antec cases (P180 mini :D).

Just wanted to upload mine, not the neatest (mainly cos a lot of the leads would not reach round the back and over), but I wanted to upload for people who may be considering this case with a large PSU and large graphics card (4870x2) as they wont fit as is.

Hi guys
I've recently changed my Power Supply to a Corsair HX620 and today I got back my side panel (For my P182) which a friend of my Dads has cut for me. The aim is to put some perspex over the top so there is a window.

He's cut it exactly how I wanted :D but like he said at the start, he couldn't guarentee it would be scratch free, the only major scratch is 1cm wide from the cut edge, which you can see here...

I'm not too bothered as he cut it out of kindness and I was prepared for a scratch or two, so what I'm considering to do now, is order some coloured acrylic, 1.5cm wide which will cover from the 4 cut edges over the scratches etc and then put the clear acrylic over the top of that which I think would look good.

I'm not sure on the coloured acrylic to put underneath though, I was thinking a white, yellow or acid green, what do you think?

:)

My Dad also suggested that Sumanji but after sanding the right edge as it was slightly out and slipping, I did this... :o

Also we thought that my initial perspex idea would look a bit rubbish, so we thought of something else. While my Dad was out he got me some silver sheet metal which is on some kind of wooden like backing (It's very thin) so we did this tonight...

We put some no more nails glue underneath which is just drying at the minute. I ordered some clear perspex today so once that's here, it's just a case of cutting that down and drilling the holes for the screws.
It's also gave the cut out nice straight edges now.

Going on this information about the Noctua and the P182...
1) Will the Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler fit fine in the P182 case?

Yes, it fits fine. Here's a shot from under my DVD drive, there's about 5mm space between the cooler and the side door.

And this about the differences between the P180 and P182...
P180: 54cm (H) x 20.5cm (W) x 50.7cm (D)

P182: 52cm (H) x 21.0cm (W) x 51.0cm (D)
Do you think there's a potential for problems with the Noctua and a P180? Because that's the combination I'm wanting to try.

I'm wondering if the 5mm difference between the P180 and P182 and that small amount of headroom in ephemeris's shot means my plans aren't going to come to fruition.

Its pretty quiet, especially if you use rivatuner.

Im considering changing my Akasa Eclipse case to the P182 as its started to get abit noiser than before. I think this is the PSU fan (Seasonic PSU), though I havent actually checked yet; if it is I think the bottom chamber for the PSU would help things.

Any owners of this case comign from an Akasa Eclipse? Is there any notible difference?

I will replace the case fans with Noctua fans which I have in my Eclipse, though I don't think i'll be able to transfer my bungee mod for the hard drives.

Any feedback is appreciated.

From what I understand, the extra width is on the other side to aid cable management.

Has anyone got the front audio connections (I assume line-in/mic) on the P182 to work with Creative sound cards? I know they work with onboard ones, because my mate has got his working.

I've got an X-Fi Music btw. I'm going to open up my case over the weekend hopefully and have a play to see if my card has got any compatible connections? Thought I'd ask here first though, and maybe save myself some time if they aren't compatible ;)

Cheers,

SW.

Anyone else had the problem where the magnet in the door comes out? I love my P182SE but the door is a bit flimsy. I wonder if it breaks in warranty if antec even have these doors anymore spare to send out?!

Yeah i figured that'd do the trick. It came out fully today actually.

I've gotta be careful with the SE though, I fear scratching/breaking something and not being able to find a replacement!
