*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Have you looked at the power connector to the motherboard, if you have it connected the wrong way round it won't switch on....

I believe it only clicks in one way as it's got a clip at one side where it clips on the same side power connector on the mobo.

I truly given up and using my old PC for now.

I've booked my attempted Antec rig to our local PC techie shop for them to diagnose and check out for me!

I feel so useless and crap! :(

It's a ZEROtherm Nirvana NV-120 Quiet CPU Cooler and I'm not sure if I am suppose to say how much it cost as OcUK don't sell them!

You can say how much it costs as OcUK dont sell them, you just cant mention competitors, if you said I got something for 210 and it was from a competitor, you just dont say it was from a competitor then your fine.

OK! In that case I got it for exactly, £30.01!

I got recommended this by a friend as I was after something more quiet than anything else.

Whilst doing some research on this CPU cooler, I read that this was suppose to be more efficient in cooling, than certain water coolers!

Unless it's launch day of a new product then they ban people willy nilly for even mentioning the prices at competitors :D

Alright lads lets not drift off topic too much! :D

I blame Will Hub myself! he has become the best thread-shifter on OcUK :p

which psu is best for p182

i am thinking of getting a p182 case next week so i have a couple of questions.
1-what is the best modular psu to get to power a dual core e8400 and a gtx 280 gtx that will fit without removing the middle fan.
2- what cables will i need to buy extensions for if any to neatly tidy the cables up behind the m/b which will be a asus p5Q board as i noticed there seems to be a connection in the top left of the board.

cheers

I'm not sure how the Kama bay affects temps as it was installed at the time of first build but that along with no obstructions to air flow keep an overclocked motherboard around 25°C which is amazing considering the case is closed and under my desk.

The Kama fan is pretty good, nice and quite with good airflow but I removed the sponge filter that came with it and now have to wipe the dust that collects on the exterior metal-mesh every week!
Big.Wayne, im about to buy a Kama from the bay.
can you tell me:
1. does it allow a dust filter to be installed between the fan and the front grill?
2. can i put a 5inch HDD silencer enclosure in the middle of the 3-bay Kama fan? is it physically possible in terms of the screw holes with the p182 drive sliders.

because of the difficulty to clean the dust filter there. i shall put lowest CFM fan i have. that way, low and steady airflow along with kama's quieter fan to replace top fan should help my overclock. 3.6Ghz is my goal.

Hi wuyanxu,

The Kama bay is supplied with it's own dust filter (square piece of foam) but I removed this to increase airflow. I'm not sure what a 5inch HDD silencer enclosure looks like but it may be possible to mount it in the middle rail but I'm thinking it may clash with the front/inside edge of the Kama bay?

imagine a DVD drive that don't require to be opened. is it possible to mount that without touching the fan?

im worried that it might conflict with the fan. if it does, i will have to forget about it :( lucky hasn't bought the HDD enclosure yet.

im buying it from the bay, didn't say whether the foam is included. how can it tell?

In that case then no it won't fit as the Kama bay takes up the front of the three drive bays and then u have the fan mounted behind it. The Kama is sold as standard with a dust filter. Hope this helps.

Nope! I've been at it all weekend!

I'm puzzled as to why it won't work!

You got any ideas?

I've built PC's in the past all fine before! :(

Have you tried to boot it with a VGA cable? I thought mine wasn't booting but it was a problem with no DVI output. I unplugged the monitor for 10 minutes to fix it.

My tower is complete the last bits weny in today

Tower:
2x 250gb RAID 0
4Gb OCZ Reaper
Q6600 CPU
Scyth Coolor
Power Color 4870 Graphics Card
Scyth Karma Bay

So impressed with the build quality of this case through out, its endless extras and clean build is great

I leave you with some pics

I just got this P182 case for my new rig and it seems a really nice case but my 850w Be Quiet PSU is too long.

I can't figure out how to take out the lower case fan out to give me more cable space behind the PSU! :(

Can anyone help me out please?

Too late now as you've already ripped it out, but for any one else. You just need to pull the "tab" bit on the side of the fan holder towards the rear of the case, so that the "clips" unclip, then pull the fan towards the right side panel (the one you take off to put your motherboard in).

Also, regarding your cable management. Why haven't you put your 24pin ATX cable behind the motherboard tray and out through the hole made specially for it?

Hi all,

Been looking through this entire thread trying to find an answer but to no avail at the moment (perhaps im just blind!)

I'm looking to join the P182 club and the spec im looking at contains a 4870 X2. Would this case be large enough to house this card on a Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4 motherboard?

Would be greatful for any insight.
