*******Official Armed Assault 2 thread of official officialness*******

My Q6600 at 3.5GHz and 8800GTS 512 beats my brother on E2160 at 3.1GHz and GTX 260 for avergae frames.

Also, i get between 40-70% load on all cores and he said he's seeing up to 95% on both, so CPUs are definitely a limiting factor on FPS in this game.

Not you as well :D

I can see the sales of top end hardware going up this month. I am now on the look out for a decent overclockable quad for my motherboard, any suggestions?

Q6600 GO or Q9550 in members market or if u fancy splashing some cash upgrade everything to i7 but that's a bit extreme...

Yes I guess this is probably the first game to 'need' a quad-core cpu?, unless you want 15fps.

Need a bit of advice re nvidia drivers - Arma II was playing pretty well for me at high settings after installing the patch with fps between 20-30. I then decided to install the latest whql drivers - 186.18 - in the hope of getting another few frames & since installing them earlier I get major stuttering, flickering textures etc. I can't do a system restore since I deleted them all recently to clean up my system & I can't quite remember the drivers I was using before - deleted all those old files earlier today as well. I know they were from around Feb/Mar this year and were 182. something. Can anyone please recommend me some stable drivers as I feel like a right idiot. Much appreciated.

i need the same info lol.

On a seperate note.

I have a Q6600 @ 3.4ghz, 4 gb ram and a 1000w psu & 260GTX inbound from OCUK - due date Tuesday :p

What fps can I expect on 1920 x 1200?

Edited:

Well i'm gonna grab me a pair of 4890's next mth

Thinking this will surely help me :)

But not really suffering too badly with my 4870 with a few options knocked down a notch ;)

dunno what it is with this game but when lowering the settings i get very minimal performance gains. i can lower rez and all details and the most i gain is about 5 fps. weird!

ive actually decided to run terrain and objects at very low as i think it looks better for some reason but even then im only averaging between 20-30fps

probably because you may have reached the point where you are CPU limited ...

really? with a q6600 ocd? tbh i dont think this game looks any better than bf2 so why such a system whoare.

i mean my cpu with the clock on it must have comparable perfomance to the top end intel/amd card so why make a game that runs like a dog on the latest hardware/
