*****Official Ashes thread*****

Seriously if England can't bat against this attack they really are totally useless. Currently -52/2 they haven't a hope of getting anything out of this match. Flat pitch or not they are just bottlers.

Obviously plenty of cricket still to play but its looking very good for your lot now. If only we had Monty in at number 11 to put in a similar performance to Agar :D

Always liked Monty don't think he gets a fair go at times.

Can't wait for Pieterson to get out though, he's my most hated cricketer what a ******

Well that last wicket partnership was a bit of a surprise, unlucky Agar didnt get his century but he did well to get the Aussies to a fighting total..65 runs ahead. Didnt expect that, thought Aussies would have been bowled out for less than 200 runs.

Good start from the Aussies to the 2nd innings, got Root and Trott out...get Cook and KP out and England are in trouble.

So far shaping up to be a good first test.

Well, at least we're ahead. If these two can hold on tonight and build a bit of a partnership tomorrow things could well swing back our way.

It's mad that there's still 3 days play left! If England bat for the next day and a half (big if, I know), will be interesting to see how the Aussies go chasing 400 on a worn pitch.....

If England set Australia 400 to win they ain't gonna get close without something even more miraculous than what agar did today

99/100 I'd absolutely agree with you, but then I thought there'd be no way they'd get past 150 today at about 11.30!! Wonder whether the selectors will stick with Finn after today, or bring Bresnan in, given he can bat. Guess it depends on the weather/pitch

I'm old enough to remember when Australia had a top order that actually put runs on the board.

Still a cracking game so far. How about that Agar, eh?

Have to say I'm deeply concerned by the holes in our batting lineup. I think England will post a nice fat score and knock us out for around half their total in the second innings.
