*****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

Yes you get all of those , i have flashed to 0504 and running prime stable at 3.3Gig on my B3 q6600 , cpu showing 50 degrees , nb showing 47 under load at 1.6v, going up bit at a time and testing ect ,, found it more difficult than the p5k del and the premium up to now but it seems better in prime

Thanks, I'm sort of wondering why mine came only with Stalker and the Asus CD, bought from a competitor as it's the SE nevertheless I'll ask where my CD's are.

Mines going well with a Go Q6600 running 390 X 9 Orthos stable and not running water through the block as I don't want to spoil the rest of my 1/2 system with a restrictive (by comparison) 3/8 block but the temps are late around the 39-45c mark, I can hold my finger on it without pain, good indicator that it's not 60+c.

Must say very impressed with it but it's early days yet only got it yesterday.

Hi, thinking of watercooling this beast, any suggestions for a someone who hasn't had any experience of this? Linkies to review would help too. Although my current motherboard idle temps are 39c without any OC'ing, not too bad I guess but I want at least 3.4ghz out of this..

I originally bought the swiftech kit , which isnt bad value but over time have replaced the res for a danger den drive bay one and added gpu cooler and changed the cpu block a few times , now on the swiftech gtx, this fusion block seems quite good on the northbridge.

The Kaspersky and Futuremark were on the CD :o
Re your water set up are you on 1/2" or 3/8"? I haven't connected my fusion becaue it looked restrictive and to be honest it's running cool enough with a 80MM fan on it using the Zalman bracket.
If your on 1/2" how much difference to the rest of the loop have temps changed?

Thanks.

I am using 1/2" tubing and if the temps are to be believed it has improved my cpu temp by slowing down the flow but in the mean time i also took my system into work before i built it with Maximus and blew out the rad with compressed air and couldnt believe how much crap there was there (the fins that is)
On previous setups i have always used a mcw30 nb cooler in the loop

be intereseting to see if someone added cooling to the nb after they had run it dry to see what difference in temps it actually made to the nb and the rest of the loop.

Whats the sound card like that comes with this board?

I find the volume is low with the mic I use (and the way I use it) on the 24bit creative cards, so I am thinking of using the sound card that comes with the maximus as I can't get drivers for my old faithful SB Lives that work in Vista.

I've always found on-board sound very thin, but was thinking this board has a more "up market" card with it.

Ive got the se version of this board on order, but after reading through this thread i am starting to get a bit worried.

i have no intention of running on water but it sounds as if it runs quite hot on air.

is it possible to add a cooler to the nb..

I can't remember off hand what temps I got but certainly no more than 60c this was after 12+ hours of Orthos with a quad 6600 at 3600 400X9
I was very surprised at how low they were, if I find time I'll try to test it agin and let you know.

Is your water system 3/8 or 1/2 and if it's 1/2 what effect does have on the rest of the water system.

None whatsoever. I had the cpu in a 1/2" loop with a PA 120.3 though which probably accounts for this. Flow was slightly reduced (judging by the turbulence in the res) but not by any significant amount that it had hindered temps.
