** Official ATI 5770 Thread **

Where are you getting your load temps from? There's no way it's that low under furmark stress testing mate. not unless you live in an ice cube!!!

This is after about 5 runs through, running all options max @ 1680x1050 window.. As i said i do have quite a bit of cooling in my Pc.. Cards are at stock.

I did the same test. One card maxed at 64 and the other at 74. I'm gonna check the paste on the higher one.

Does anyone know ho to remove the cooler? How much paste should I use and how tightly should I screw it back up?

Now set the fans to auto....... Jesus christ 100% fan speeds will send you round the bend.

90C is normal, and its the point where auto fans start to accelerate to keep the card at 90C. Crossfired cards tend to have one hotter GPU as the lower card blocks airflow into the fan and sends heat into it instead.

ATI's GPUS have a maximum thermal spec of 120c.....

My fans are at auto ? In the pic the fans are at 39%...

Mine start accelerating up way before 90.c the max i have seen them is at 45% which is a slight hum..

Now that a fair few people have them can any one else confirm when in 2 d (surfing the web etc) do you get like blue pixels on your screen like artifacts then disply driver stops responing maybe time for rma?

oh and for them wondering about if there getting the egg cooler or the reference cooler fatboy just said in an other post that there all mixed and there is no way to guarentee what cooler you would get on any of the manufacturers. So it will be a suprise when you open it :P

The blue pixel 2D crash was fixed by the 9.11 drivers for me :).

To remove the stock cooler, it is just the 4 tiny screws around the core on the back of the card.

You can change your paste or cooler and if you ever need an RMA, just put the stock cooler back on. Just like with CPUs. OCUK shouldnt mind so long as it is returned as it was sold so they can get it replaced by the manufacturer.

Gigabyte support forums even told me the exact same thing when I had some gigabyte cards - their cards at least would still be serviced as long as they are returned as they came.

Right now I am running at around 75 degrees with my custom coolers, whereas the stock ones were exceeding 90, even 100 at times. As far as graphics card failure is concerned, they should have a much lower chance of failure now, then I just stick the default cooling back on when selling them after my next upgrade.

Once you get used to it, it becomes as easy as lego, and lowering temperatures is always a good thing.

Your temperature is amazing, only 61 degrees :p.

Its the GPU usage that is going over 90%, not the temperature lol.

I think my temps are low because of my cooling. I have 2 x 120mm fans at the front of the case that pump fresh cool air directly into the cards intakes, I also have another 120mm fan on the side of the case blowing air directly over the coolers. I then have a 140mm and a 120mm at the top of the case sucking all the hot air out...

Since installing the official 9.11 CCC, CCC no longer opens for me. Anyone got any ideas? I tried installing CCC back over the top but it made no difference. Plan to have a longer play tonight.

I had this problem i had to completely remove all old drivers from the system, then re-start before installing the official 9.11 drivers.
