*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

Thanks man. Any news on the Tesco or Amazon orders that were <£25? Are we just assuming they're going to honour them?

My order at Tesco says:
Status: Awaiting Despatch.
Estimated despatch: Within 1 to 2 Weeks from 25 Feb 2010

My spamazon order is still standing. Esitmated delivery is 8th of march :S.

Oh, Zen! Aren't you spoiling it for yourself by watching all these videos? I appreciate your efforts in this thread but I've not watched anything yet as I want a nice surprise on Thursday/Friday. :D

I'm not watching much. I've probably only looked at 20% of what I've posted. I am lapping this MP stream up though while the wife watches "lark rise to candleford" in the background.:D

For MP I'm enjoying getting a basic overview before I go out there...in the cold... :o

Thanks Zensuji for all the contributions to this thread - all the resources really make me want this game!!

You're most welcome :)

I actually didn't think it was possible to experience withdrawal symptons for video games... until now.

I'm not playing anything at the moment. Nothing will come close to replacing the demo.

Major Nelson was on that stream last night at 4am according to reports on various forums.

I tried to play assasins creed 2 but omg so boring and it took like an hour to get the first weapon so I gave up. Im going to be checking my amazon account every hour over the next couple of days!

Have you ordered with amazon before? this is my first time with a game and I'm not feeling hopeful. I may go out on Friday and purchase a copy from a store if amazon haven't delivered by then. Then take the sealed amazon copy back to the store.

Oh and speaking of Major Nelson he interviewed dice on his podcast last night

Same as MW2 though - they are getting everything prepared and dispatched because of the huge volume of orders. Don't expect to see it til Thursday at the earliest. :D

They used parcel force though and they were informed to hold them. I believe they are just using royal mail this time. I agree though it does seem unlikely

my spazamon order still says the 8th as the expect time of arrival.

Some one posted this in another forum

ok ill say this once......

I CALLED GAME AND THEY SAID THEY ARE PROCESSING ORDERS BUT THE WILL **NOT** BE LEAVING THE DEPOT UNTIL WEDNESDAY AS NORMAL.

its high demand and Game need to take money etc and package them to avoid delays....no game will actually have left them yet

(im in uk btw)

not saying they are correct.

Just got this from amazon when I asked about getting it sent out soon

Dearest Bumhead,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

We do understand your concern, however please understand that many manufacturers restrict retailers from selling or dispatching their products until the official release date. Unfortunately we didn't offer "release date delivery" for "Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Xbox 360)". If we offer "release date delivery" for an item, then you can find this information in the product details pages. We are sorry if this was not clear when you placed this order.

For your future reference, please note that if you pre-order an item from our website, then the item will be dispatched to you the day before the release date and once dispatched the delivery times are as follows based on the delivery method chosen:

Super Saver Delivery: 3-5 business days
First Class: 1-2 business days
Express Delivery: Guaranteed Next Business Day

Once your order is dispatched from our Fulfilment Centre you'll receive an e-mail confirming the date, contents and method of delivery.

Quick question guys, should I get this for 360 or PC? My PC is pretty old, I didn't get to try the beta/demo unfortunately.

PC spec: C2D E6300 @ 3ghz, 4gb ram, 8800GT.

I cant give you much advice but from what I've seen a quad core makes the world of difference. For that reason I'd get it on the 360 and have the level playing field.

Game pro review

HERE

With Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 being regularly victimized by bugs, glitches, hacks and other exploits, there's an opportunity for another game to come in and do some real damage. Bad Company 2 definitely has the necessary chops to give the current king of, well, modern warfare, a run for its money. Aside from its limited weapon tweaking, it hits on all of the same high points as its biggest competition but does it with a style all its own.

I love how everyone is using BC2 to slate MW2, not against it, but BC1 had nowhere near such an impact on the fps community!

It's staggering how well DICE have come out on top already.

Let's hope this spurs on for more BC's!

I think a major factor in Dice's success was 1943. Neither me or anyone on my friends list had touched a battlefield game before - and that came out during a slow patch. Perfect timing...perfect introduction and setting everyone up for wanting a full on battlefield. Then enter BC2 just at the time when MW2 has left quite a few feeling a little empty. The lead up and timing to BC2 seems perfect.
