*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

Seems the chopper pilots are going to have flying made harder

"1. Autocannon - nerfed
2. Quick reload - nerfed
3. AA - buffed
4. Tracers ...are SIGNIFICANTLY buffed"

Seems the kit change pack has been taken down for a lot of people due to a price mix up

What do you mean mate? I have no experience with the PC version.....do tell.

Oops! Got both thread subscribed didn't check which thread I was in.

Basically the PC choppers handle like pregnant tanks compared to thier console counter-parts, maybe these AA changes are to stop choppers from becoming overpowering.

How are the choppers on the console when playing as infantry?

I struggled to even keep them in the Air until I discovered you can change the flight controls to Bad Company 1. this makes it so much easier for me as all the movement is on the sticks but even so its still pretty difficult to master.

On that huge open sand one they can be very dominating.....especially when the other team have 2 :o. And with the slow ticket bleed the ground game can seem a little futile.

A lot of people circle strafe them now, if they do it on your base you can get under the edge of their circle and take them down quite easy with well place rockets.....some times it just doesnt happen though.

The SPECACT pack makes the Stimulus package look cheap considering the data size of 860kb and the Recon kit keeps resetting to defaults which also affects the vehicle specialisation in the other kits.

I wonder what the new speed of tracer darts it's currently the same as a CarlG which makes it no easier to hit the agile helicopters.

I'm not too chuffed the Mortar is being weakened against tanks the only time I find it unfair is when the tank is on an almighty gradient where it's virtually stalling backing up and forward isn't a option.

EDIT: Bally hell the Tracer Dart speed is now allegedly 300 before it was 75.

They seem to be making some ok changes and some pretty poor changes at the same time. I wish they just didn't have the M95 on the game. As taking a .50 cal in the chest irl would kill you I'm pretty sure. Every time I use it I feel robbed lol

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/21/joystats-reaching-rank-50-in-battlefield-bad-company-2/
Battlefield: Bad Company 2, EA's addictive team-based shooter, requires approximately 282 hours -- or 11 days and 18 hours -- of play to reach the highest rank of 50. The statistic was provided to Joystiq by Darius Kazemi, president of Orbus Gameworks, a consulting company that helps game developers keep track of what players are doing in-game. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA). Kazemi collected the data of 3,373 player profiles from BFBCS.com using their API.

For a jarring sense of scale: the average Rank 50 player has put 295 hours into the game, the equivalent of over seven weeks of working a full-time, 40-hour-a-week job. The time requirement to rank up increases dramatically around Rank 25. Kazemi explained, "From rank 1-25 it takes about 2 hours to climb to a new rank. From rank 25-50 it takes about 10 hours to level up." Read on to see how it all breaks down -- if you have time, that is.

Average times spent playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2:
Rank 1-10 players spent 3-24 hours in game
Rank 11-20 players spent 25-44 hours in game
Rank 21-30 players spent 48-100 hours in game
Rank 31-40 players spent 111-221 hours in game
Rank 41-50 players spent 228-295 hours in game

Interesting (imo) article. I am level 18 and plan on at least hitting level 26 (last level based weapon upgrade I can see). I am on about 27 hours gameplay so quite a few more hours to put in, based on these averages

Anyone here hit level 50, or got anywhere near, and did it take the amount of time these averages imply?

I'm half way to level 27 and have spent 39 hours on the game. Getting bit bored because I have no new weapons to work towards. Still haven't managed to rack up 20 demolition 2.0 kills either what a chore!

Is it me, but just lately more and more people seem to camp? I'm not refering to the recon class as they are snipers of course they are suppose to camp/stay in the same spot. Im talking about assault/medic/engineer class who camp in the corner of buildings, bushes etc as if they are too scared to move for fear of the K/D ratio.

I camp in corners if I'm on the defensive team of a rush map. That can win a map if the attackers are 90% recon who are sat waiting for the defenders to come to them and they run out of time to destroy the mcomms ;)
I'm happy with my less than 0.84 k/d ratio as my map win ratio is a healthy 1.2 Generally I'll quit a map if I'm on attack and the team are camping and gifting the map win to the defenders as all I'm doing attacking on my own is improving the k/d of the, rightfully, camping defenders :P
