*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

Theres nothing about battlefield in that or am I missing something? Seems to be about some gimpy multiplayer game where the best scores come from those you can find the exploits.

lol wrong thread.

Looking forward to grabbing the BC1 maps. Dont mind paying at all. Had loads of hours on this

Why is everybody praising DICE for releasing old maps like that's some massive accomplishment on their part. BC1 does NOT equal NEW content. The BC1 maps could have been in the game from day 1, it's no big challenge converting already made Frostbite maps.

I didnt praise DICE. I don't feel that passionate about it. But if you're asking me why others are praising DICE I don't know and I don't care. :)

Edit: I havent played the BC1 maps and I'm looking forward to some games on maps that are new to me.

Better than a poke in the eye.

At least dice are still supporting the game regardless of a cash in it'll be nice to see some old favs on bc2.

Wrong. DICE aren't supporting anything. Fans having been asking for new content for months. This is the best they can do? A bunch of recycled BC1 maps?

And I suspect this move is only done so they can subdue fans and hope they buy their Vietnam expansion.

Fans asking for new content... The best they can do is BC1 maps...

And then in the SAME POST you mention the Vietnam expansion. So that's recycled as well?

Some people... Honestly!

When did I say Vietnam was recycled? Dice are trying to sweeten up their fan base with BC1 maps (which are cheap/easy for them to release) just so people buy their Vietnam expansion.

But back in the early days when people wanted content and the game was still heavily active they ignore all requests.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make here. You repeatedly contradict yourself by saying Dice doesn't support the game and doesn't provide new, original content - all the while slating BC2 for getting both new and old additions.

You would be happy if just Vietnam came along, but you are grumpy because Vietnam is coming alongside some maps from BC1 (which were excellent). It's to 'sweeten the deal' in your view. Make your mind up. It's incredibly unfair to try and put a negative spin like that.

This seriously boggles my mind for example. Moaning 'this is the best they can do?' regarding new content - then immediately after, you mention Vietnam!

Dice just can't win!

Plus from what I can make out about the Vietnam part, its not just a bunch of new maps, but new vehicals, new characters and weapons as well as the maps etc etc, this is about the right timing to be bringing them out.

Maybe our definitions of supporting the game are different.

But I don't consider a seperately priced expansion as "support". It has nothing to do with BC2, it's piggybacking off the success of BC2, different weapons, different era, different vehicles. It's like saying BF1943 was support for BC1.

So my only support comes in the form of maps which I already bought back in 2008. Hardly inspiring.

Well I think having new maps even if they are old ones from previous versions can be considered as support.

Plus vietnam is going to be about a tenner.

Could be a lot worse. If another company was doing it they would have charged £45 and called it Black Ops :p

I have no gripe paying a tenner for the amount of hours that I am going to get out of the game. Any free content that I get from a game is a bonus these days. And charging about a tenner for brand new maps, vehicles, characters and weapons doesnt sound too bad in my eyes.

They could easily have sold the vietnam expansion as a full price game if they wacked in a SP part to the game. Personally I think it's enough to keep the fans happy until they release BF3.

Any dates on vietnam or extra maps by the way?

So having a consistent stream of DLC by way of map packs and weapon/character skins, consistent patching to ensure no gun becomes overpowered (M16 is still OP in CoD4, 3 years on, M60 took a couple of months to be patched in BC2), Onslaught Mode DLC, BC1 maps converted to the Frostbite 2 engine AND a Vietnam expansion don't count as supporting the game?

I'm struggling to work out what you want from them...
