So having a consistent stream of DLC by way of map packs and weapon/character skins, consistent patching to ensure no gun becomes overpowered (M16 is still OP in CoD4, 3 years on, M60 took a couple of months to be patched in BC2), Onslaught Mode DLC, BC1 maps converted to the Frostbite 2 engine AND a Vietnam expansion don't count as supporting the game?

I'm struggling to work out what you want from them...

Firstly read my reasons again why Vietnam is not supporting the game.

Secondly, there were no map packs, VIP system consisted them of holding back already made maps. We could have been playing all the maps on the day of release, this was a totally contrived move by EA not letting us.

Onslaught mode, a poor excuse for co-op, with 4 recycled MP maps. When instead they could have made the campaign co-op from the outset. Or god forbid included new maps with that mode.

Weapon skins, waste of time/money.

Weapon balance should have been there from day one if they'd bothered to beta test it sufficiently, it's not exactly rocket science, but then it's also not difficult to implement changes from the server side, hence why they do it that way under the guise of 'support'.

To be fair I think people expect too much from games now, there was a time when a game came out and that was it, no updates, no patches just what was in the CD case or on the cartridge. Now people see to expect extra stuff free for life.

Even excluding all the extras BC2 is an excellent online game and has far exceeded my expectations for value for money, especial when I compare it to games like MoH which I played for a week and now sit on the shelf.

.

Yes they may have held back mpas but they also are not charging people £10 or so to get them.

The older maps that are coming out aren't going to be something that we would have got anyway on the day of release if they did choose not to hold them back. So I think this a good gesture from them.

They could easily charge for them and people would pay because they are a huge value for money. I have a good 200 hours of gameplay from this game and welcome the adding of additional maps to extend my playing.

just bought this for the ps3...
with me having this on the pc.. and with pc gamers being vip.. would that make my ps3 account have vip access if i register it onto the same account i have my pc bc2 account on?

I need to get playing some more of this, I played last night and realised how much I missed it :)

Its brilliant, one of those games that you can just keep coming back too. Its been my sole multiplayer game for the last few months. Some mega spawn camper rage moments but not throw the pad at the screen anger I used to get on CoD. You don't have to be a mega killing machine when you can rack up points, healing, repairing, re-arming etc.
