*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

The CG rocket doesn't work with the darts as yoyo says. The one before it, the RPG-7 does. I'm not sure about the one after it, MG3414 or something.

And has anyone actually managed to fire a tracer dart on to a moving helicopter? Bloody hard! ;)
Ah, it's the M136 I've unlocked, apparently it's not heat seeking, but they confuse matters by using the HEAT acronym (High Explosive Anti Tank).
It's manually guided from what I can gather, I'll test it out tonight and report back.

What's the deal with the last Sniper Unlock? Is it an auto spotting scope? I need another 7000xp before I get it but not sure it's worth the effort.

I unlocked the sniper stuff first, as I know generally it takes more time because you can't just rush in and get those kills to up the XP quickly. Capping flags is more difficult as a sniper because if (when) it kicks off around the flag, you are at a disadvantage. Unless you take a shotty of course.

I'd say not. I got it last night but you have to keep your sights on someone for much longer than it takes to hit the Back/Select button.

Sniping is good for ranking up quickly. A headshot from halfway between the attacker spawn and the first base on someone in the second base nets you a +379 Marksman Headshot score.

I like the marksman headshots you get with the 12x scope, I had one on the beta that I was exceptionally proud of, not only was he a massive distance away, but he was on the move and I adjusted my aim to account for the bullet drop/travel perfectly.

Definite Battlefield moment.

I don't find a lot of snipers a major problem so far. Some snipers are truly dire at sniping, never taking into account bullet travel trajectory when they're aiming at you. Obviously there are a fair few that are good, but when you have a decent squad and you move between cover correctly, it makes you tough to take out.

I do admit that landing that perfect headshot from a great distance away is a fantastic feeling. Getting knifed in the back, however, isn't :P

Agreed.

Will be online later if you're still on.

I was the assault class and shooting enemies with the grenade launcher with no luck.. then realising I had smoke grenades equipped. I've not seen anyone use smoke grenades in 10 hours of playing. I find them very useful - fire a couple behind an MCOM station and use the cover to set the explosive!

Still loving this game!

That kind of thing is what separates the better players from the rabble. Actually using the game-given items to create a tactical advantage is what BC2 is all about. Rushing in blindly never works, you'll just get cut down. Flanking around, cover to cover, flushing out enemy positions and laying down smoke and cover fire wherever possible is the way to go, and it is what makes this game stand out as being an awesome experience when you're grouped with a decent squad :)

Impossible to answer really. a lot of people really love MW2, but I personally prefer BFBC2 over MW2 simply because of the forced teamwork factor. If you don't play as a team player, your side is doomed to fail. The perk system in MW2 annoys me, and after all, in BFBC2 you can be a real-life chopper gunner if you want :)

At the end of the day, if you're after a game based on teamwork, squad tactics, and all-out action, then BC2 is worth a good go as it has all of that. If you're just interested in running around racking up the highest score and getting your harriers, predators and helicopter gunners to do all the work for you, then BC2 is a no-go.

Also, I've added all of the XBox users from the first post to my friends list so if you get an invite from CHokKA, that's me :) The only one that hasn't worked is the GT for KonvictVIVIVI. Is it correct?

Should work fine. I'll add you.
