I use the RPG most of the time, only on armour // helis.

For some reason seems too damn slow to take anything else out plus you can be spotted holding it from about a mile away!

What does the "spot" gadget actually do?

I've had it on my sniper rifle and expected it to auto-spot anything in the scope. Reading the blurb suggests it reports spots to your squad but I was under the impression pressing "Q" did that anyway?

I got that impression too. Doesn't the gadget highlight people on the minimap / spot them just by looking at them?

Have you updated manually by downloading the standalone pbsetup from the support section of www.evenbalance.com ?

Yep, followed a possible fix that said you should completely remove PB and redownload/update etc but that had no effect.

Also read that servers need to be restarted for PB to work but Ive tried several servers.

I and a few buddies have the same problem. Have manually reinstalled punk. No online play yet

And have you added BC2 in the executable and manually force updated?

doesnt seem to help much at all
and also the 12x zoom, is that just zoomed further in?

I'm not sure and can't say, but I do know that Server versions of software don't always align with client versions.

Worth looking into though...

No, the local client and server ones will be different in version number as they are updated individually, I assume

yeah i get that a lot. but ive found like 4 servers i can play on ... very wierd

Every so often but not all the time, it's just one of those things on a huge list that needs to be sorted lol

I am guessing because no one has replied to the numerous times this has been asked no one actually knows what it does yet?

Find the TFU server and connect to that, we are all able to connect to that fine so if it gives the same problem it suggests something at your end.

Doesn't help diagnose, but helps narrow the problem down.

Yes, but it also increases accuracy and range. It's far superior to the stock/4x scope

You may have noticed when sniping over far distances that not only do you get bullet drop, but the bullet will stray offf target - the 12x scope reduces this somewhat.
