Anyone got a Thuros or Hibachi style open bbq? I've got the kamado and if I just quickly cook stuff for me and the wife (couple of burgers, few bits of chicken etc during the week) I'll use the bbq starter bit thinking of getting one of the smaller ones to sit alongside.

I was thinking the same thing and went with a Weber Go Anywhere - not used it yet though.

I have a Thuros T1. It’s a lovely bit of kit, but if I’m honest I find it easier to use the enormous Weber Summit Charcoal. It’s easier to control the temp, you can cook stuff indirect, cook more of it etc.

You can’t extinguish the charcoal in the Thuros with the lid, so you end up wasting more than you would in the Summit.

Left over home made burgers.

Made a load up on Sunday as had people over and had some left over.

Advantages of a has BBQ this time of year, just whack it on, stick some burgers on done in 5 minutes.

And before you go on a rampage I do charcoal as well :)

Ha, No rampages here, Was just interested to see what was getting fired up!

I bought myself a Weber Spirit II E310 towards the end of summer last year. Previously had a Weber charcoal but after experiencing the benefit of gas vs. solid fuel on my various Ooni pizza ovens I thought gas BBQ was for me...

I was immediately disappointed in the immediate heat for searing a slab of meat and miss the taste of charcoal too - so I've barley used it. I'm not big on smoking or any low and slow stuff. Admittedly just lobbing man size pieces of red meat on and cremating them. I've put it up for sale now and plan to replace it with another Weber charcoal.

Quite keen to pay the money and try the models with the Gourmet BBQ system where you have removable sear, pizza etc. plates. Anyone got any first hand experience on the Weber Master Touch models? Looking at this particular one with the sear plate and cover plus buy the pizza stone too: https://www.wowbbq.co.uk/categories...arcoal-grill-57cm/17401004-7186~17401004-7186

I made a outdoor area with old pallets and some cheap granite work tops off of marketplace. Not covered so still have to bring the egg in over winter etc.
