*** Official BioShock 2 Thread ***

Seems to use all 4 cores nicely and utilise GPU too but not sure why it's not using more VRAM - guess it's not huge on textures so doesn't need it?

Yeah, my CPU runs about 50% of capacity with load fairly evenly distributed over all eight threads. Works it harder than any other UE3 games I've seen so far I think.

I'm another one slightly disappointed by the lack of 360 pad support. I've come to the point now where I only use k+m for online play and rts games, it's nice to be able to relax on my bed when playing single player stuff :/

I might get it on the 360 now, but i've just come back to PC gaming as the graphics are starting to get a bit dated on the consoles.

hmmm toying with picking this up soon, what do you guys reckon, i'll get away with my 4850 right?? Not expecting it maxed out but if it wont do fairly high settings i'll just wait. Oh playing at 1680x1050 btw.

getting a 5850 next month on pay day but i'd rather get this now if i can.

you might just be able to get awat with it maxed out with the 4850, im playing it on a 5770 maxed with the same res and a comfortable 60 - 80fps.

Played it for around 3 hours now and I hate to say it but I'm bored

Yes its pretty , yes it plays without glitches , but it just feels very samey , uninvolved and very much like the first one , maybe I expected too much ?

Ah well , will keep playing and see if things improve ;)

Not best pleased, Bioshock 1 would be one of my favourite games if it wasn't for the mouse deadspot problem. Saddens me to see that BioShock 2 has the same problem.

I like my mouse sensitivity somewhat low, probably a little bit lower than the average user. When I have it low I get deadspots on menus and in the in game puzzles. This issue has been identified but 2k can't be bothered to fix it by the looks.

Played the first few levels and I'm up to Paupers Drops and I have to say....

I'm disappointed, it's just Bioshock 1 with new voices and a few new guns, yes the mechanics have advanced and the AI is better but the game itself just lacks...character, I've yet to encounter anything near as atmospheric as some of the Bioshock1 levels even near the beginning and Sinclair is incredibly boring and seems to just be a carbon copy Atlas even down to the little sister speech about saving/not saving. The visuals are tired and look a bit dated now so it can't survive on that alone, the story makes very little sense at the moment and not even in a good way, the new villain is teeth gratingly annoying and has none of the....gravitas that Ryan had, she just seems a bit of a loon.

I really hope it picks up.

Oh and did anyone else feel really let down by the opening? Won't spoil anything but it's really is nothing on the original.

so... left mouse fires your right handed weapon, and right mouse fires your left handed weapon. how... intuitive. at least you can change that.

is there any AA? I enabled it in ccc but it doesn't seem to have worked
