Ordered from Steam on the cheap deal and have tomorrow off sick as had wisdom tooth out today and what happens? Theres no preload and the game wont be available until 10pm. :mad:

Yeah it blows, who knows Steam may pull a fast one and have it up for pre-load tomorrow...doubtful though, roll on Wednesday I guess.

Basically Valve screwed up so every steam buyer has to suffer for it and end up having to wait an extra day, thanks a ****ing bunch Gabe. I put up with the sometimes higher prices on steam for the ability to not have to worry about disks, I won't however put up with having to wait an extra ****ing day to play, especialy when people who ordered hard copied get them days in advance.

I wish you could rent PC games. BS2 is one of those games I don't think I'll get into, and won't risk blowing £30 on. Yes, the reviews will say it's awesome. I don't trust them. Yes, you'll say it's awesome in this thread. I don't trust YOU either :p

If steam would let me pay £5 for a 3-day (better make that 5-day) temporary pass, I'd be all over it.

The first set a legacy. I highly doubt a lot of people have doubts about this one either.

To do that they would have to disable offline mode, so it's never gonna happen.


One more thing, what the **** is with the steam release being at 10PM on release day? Seriously this is pathetic.

Well... I'm one of those grumpy old gits that didn't think the first one was all that special :p

It didn't quite work for me as a FPS - although the setting was intriguing - and that decoy plasmid was my ticket to cheese my way through the whole game. In the end I didn't mind that it did, because I was pretty much only playing it to see where the story went, having given up on Quake-like FPS joy anyhow.

BS2 might pique my curiosity in a few ways, but I'm still not expecting a great game, instead of a pretty spectacle.
 
I'm hoping mine does too....I'm fixing another PC so have all night to find out :O

I couldn't wait for it on my one night off for a few days, so downloaded it. It's sooo good! :D
Can't wait to pick up my special edition from HMV tomorrow!

That's a change from 22 hours. :) Still pretty annoying as I can't download in the morning! Should be playing by tomorrow night though.

Well that's definitely better, will get up early and start it downloading than go back to sleep, hopefully it will be done around mid day, though probably later..
