*** Official BioShock 2 Thread ***

I can't even use the quick save function. It gives me the haven't created one / aren't signed in error (both which are wrong).

I have to use the ESC, option blah.

Mine works fine. F12 for save and F11 for load is stupid, completely the wrong way round for what it normally is. F9 as save and F12 as load gives me no problems.

I do hate that it doesn't correctly include changed keys in the help things. A few times now i've pressed f to do something like it says and used a first aid kit when my use key is clearly set to e.

I cannot even sign in to GFWL to play this.

I mean cmon! It claims my username and password are incorrect. I then go to change password. I change it to the same password. It says passwords cannot be the same. No matter what I do I cannot sign into a Windows live website with my gaming ID (The hotmail one works, but I do not use it). Seriously. What gives?

I found if i turn the mouse sens in game down to the lowest it doesn't always register in the menus or the map menu. go up one notch and its fine....

:/

Yep i had that on BioShock 1, somewhat ruined the game for me.. the puzzles couldn't be done because of it. Had to keep changing mouse sensitivity just for the puzzles.

I just left it on 2 and lowered my DPI on the fly with my G500, but tbh you shouldn't have to...

Well i just completed the single player and i must say it gets a lot better as you progress through the game, noted it is very similer to the first but that is by no means a bad thing.
possible spoiler
I got the sort of bad ending because i harvested one little sister. To anyone who got the full good ending, is the last part of the game the same? does eleanor Harvest the other little sisters or save them.

Spoiler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saved them all and she saved them all then she boiled the water, she saves Lamb from drowning, I died then she harvested my adam. Loads of little sisters gather around and you have the crapest end to a game ever.

A boss battle for starters.

all the endings are on youtube if you want to see them.

ill go look now thanks but as for a boss battle the game really doesn't set up any characters for one and if there was wouldn't it just add to the list of similarities with bioshock 1. But i guess im just starting to get pedantic now.

What a rubbish ending!

Worse than Borderlands?

Note: Borderlands boils the entire game down to you fighting what is effectively, a giant tentaclely blob and by fight, i mean you shoot it several billion times in no spectacular fashion while it can't do much to stop you.

Also, that thing is supposed to be a Universe eater and it can't even fit through rock.

Anyhow, just completed Bioshock 2. Congratulations 2K games, yours is the first purchase this year that I regret making. Can I please have my money back, that game does not even deserve to be linked to the Bioshock universe.

I didn't get Bioshock 2 yet, after the above posts I assume it's not worth getting afterall?

I won't give anything away as this is the non-spoiler thread.

Gameplay was generally improved, little things here and there made for nice touches overall. Unfortunately voice acting was terrible, mouse control was poorly optimised, areas we're often repetitive and almost carbon clones of areas in Bioshock. A large majority of the new weapons were pointless. I ended up using my drill :/.

As for the story, well you may as well stop paying attention after about 20 minutes. Apparently the writers stopped bothering around then...

Some (minor) things they got right, parts of it are fun. However for the most part, I felt Bioshock 2 was a complete anti-climax.

Of course, at the end of the day its your call. The above is just my opinion of the features within the game.

So far I've found that the combat seems better but the storyline is a lot worse and not very engaging.

If the ending is rubbish then that's no different to Bioshock 1 because the ending to that was rubbish as well.

Then I may avoid it, the thing that held me in from Bioshock 1 was the story, it was 1 of the few games I really enjoyed following story-wise, and if this is the area this game lacks then I'd rather save my $$
