*** Official BioShock 2 Thread ***

This research seems easier enough, first alarm i set off on Pauper's Drop i hacked the two bots which have been with me since. They seem to get me 500 points a kill.

Really enjoying this game, it's been a long time since playng BS1 but this just feels like more of the same (which is a good thing) plus more. Really like protecting the sister whilst harvesting, all the preparation of trip rivots etc. I managed to get the master protector achievement earlier despite being on hard. First harvest of Pauper's Drop I rivoted the door way behind me, stood in a corner and let my two bots do most the killing whilst randomly electrocuting a big puddle that about 5 or 6 just ran straight into.

My Bots served me well before the Brute took them both out with a Matress - RIP little bots :p

I killed a big daddy earlier who didn't have a sister with him. It told me I shouldn't have attacked if it had no little sister. But hey he was under a camera i had hacked and also near to a puddle, again just kept shocking him whilst drilling away.

I have the tonic that makes enemies freeze if i drill them. Makes big daddys pretty easy if you have full drill fuel
 
I have been reading som einfo about the game and it seems it is very difficult to get the research for the Thuggish Splicers completed as they only appear in the level you get the camera.

I am quite far into that level and have cleard the whole 'top section' and done 2 gathers with the 1st sister before going to the appartment or getting the camera.

Will I meet enough Thuggish Splicers in the remainder of the level or should I restart the level and get the camera ASAP?

I just kept going around the level until I had enough, you keep finding random ones that spawn around the level.

How great is the Drill, I use it the most of all weapons, I have the freezing drill tonic and winter blast 2 and it's great.

Freeze the enemy and drill dash :cool:

Yeah, that or the one that shocks enemies, shocking works better against Big Daddies/Sisters and fire works better against splicers.

Only problem is that I am constantly searching for Drill fuel :(
 
I am starting the Fontaine Futuristics level, my Big Sister research is only halfway and I am slightly worried that I will not finish reasearch before the end of the game, or will there be enough Big Sisters left to fill the last two bars? (without spoilers please)

There are four big sisters, each one you fight u need to research fully. (Ie go up a level)

I have fought two and my research is just over half for the big sisters I'm about to finish Siren Alley.

I did FOntaine Futuristics yesterday, after gathering with the 3rd sister I went to a Gene Bank and changed to the two research tonics and extended reel, layed some traps and saved.

Waited for the Big Sister, researched her, got 622 points and saved, reloaded the other save and did it slightly differently and got 902 points which was 1 and a half bars so only have the last half bar to do which should be no problem.

I am loving Hypnotize 3 and Security Command 3 at the moment, great to have a rocket launching, mini turret throwing Big Daddy bodyguard with two Elite Security Bots, lol :D
 
I just finished the game, wow, just wow.

It just feels so polished and engaging, truly a game I will remember for a long time, no matter that it shares similarities with the first one.

The music at the ending credits is just really fitting and it's playing as I type this.

Anyone reading this and still thinking about it, don't think but buy it.

Sweet, I've just finished Dynosis Park. Hypnotize is so handy, especially when u get a spider splicer. They can take down 4 or 5 leadheads alone.

Whats security command 3 do? I only have security 1. Bought loads of upgrades though thanks to 'proud father' tonic.

Awesome game though
 
with SC2 can summon security bots and with SC3 you summon Elite Bots

Hypnotize 2 can make enemies follow you and help and with Hypnotize 3 you can even et a Big Daddy help you.

Telekinesis 3 can pick up and throw splicers, lol
