Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has moved to reassure fans that there will be no unfair advantage gained by players obtaining Modern Warfare 2 early, with a full leaderboard and level reset to be carried out prior to the game's official launch.

"It definitely looks like a full leaderboard / level reset is in order just before the release date to ensure no unfair advantages,
 
Not too bothered about the online side if I was to get it early as most of my buds probably wont have it. So will be just playing on veteran being spammed by nades!!
 
Well my order is being processed by the people I have my pre-order with. Shame I wont get to play it until xmas day either way.
 
I'm not to sure what to do :p

Buy it from my local super market if they will still have it? I don't fancy walking about at midnight to go pick it up as I live in Stoke ;)

Or pre-order it from an online retailer which will cost me another £5 or so.

****, the countries biggest games retailer, has been preparing for imminent strikes by Royal Mail the UK’s postal service. If these strikes were to happen, getting games into the hands of people who have purchased it may be very difficult, so the company are shipping in plenty of copies of Modern Warfare 2 for arrival on release date.

This could mean though that if the strikes don’t begin until after the game is due to ship gamers could be getting the title 3 to 4 days early, which I am sure will please a lot of fans. Time to preorder from ****, me thinks.

Had prestige edition on pre-order but canceled at last minute. I was only buying it to play with then sell on but not sure if they all sold out and if anyone would be willing to pay full whack once I had played with it!

Going for standard version from a supermarket hopefully

Seriously don't get your hopes up, it always happens with big games, it's a lie, if these were true you'd all be getting them tommorow because they're being shipped by next day courier.

In a nutshell, games are traditionally released on Friday in the UK, but Tuesday in the USA. Every now and then a big game is released simultaneously, worldwide etc, and they are based on the USA release date (Tuesdays).
