****Official Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 thread****

Getting constant crashing/lag not sure which. The screen will go black and will take about 5 secs to recover. Most times i end up dead and it shows kill cam with what looks like lag.

I only buy the Call of Duty games for the single player if I'm completely honest, I've never really enjoyed the MP.

So far the single player campaign is absolutely awesome, don't get me wrong its nothing ground breaking that we haven't seen before, but its exactly what we've come to expect from the Modern Warfare series - which is a very good thing. Its a balls out, scripted scene story driven thrill ride, and I'm absolutely loving it. Compared to BF3 I have to admit that it looks like ass, but get 10 minutes in and you wont care about that, all that matters is the story and the rollercoaster that it takes you on.

Thumbs Up.

My question: Is it £40 worth of story?

Hmm very tempting to buy it sooner lol, yeh the storys have always been intense.

Thing is you cant buy cod and complain, you know what your getting, the engine needs updating but its going to be very hard and very risky for them to do wich is why they are putting it off for as long as possible. its one of the biggest franchises on the market and to alienate the player base would be its downfall, i hounestly think they will release a new franchise on a new engine as a tie in to the cod series instead of redoing cod as that way if it does end up lackluster they haven't publicly executed the series.

I like the parts where its scripted.

Not being sarcastic but I really don't care for the combat in this game. Needs gibbing like in SOF2 to be honest. Not going to touch the MP as it looks the same as MW2 and I put 60 hours into that.

Downloading BF3, got the itch to get back into BF.

No, just trolling :p

Seriously though, both are totally different games. MW is better to just jump on and play and Battlefield is a better team play game.

Fair enough.

I'm not refuting the fact that MW3 is good in its own right, but if people think that it deserves to be an entirely new game they need to pull their head out of the sand. It's MW2, with some extra bits, no more, no less. Which for the console gamers is probably exactly what it needs to be.

There was quite a large difference between COD4 and MW2 before anyone starts bleating about that.

Agreed.

I had to read this over a few times to comprehend it but MW3 is more fun than BF3 and scores well. What's money got to do with it?

Just because it's using a dated graphics engine people shouldn't buy it?

Gameplay > Graphics every single time.

Money has a lot to do with it,why should i pay silly prices for what is a reskinned game,as people have said on this thread.

BF3 has both gameplay and graphics,so i can't see what your point is there mate

I think you have hit the nail on the head there! There was no need for MW3 as we already had the game.

My order will arrive tomorrow but i am not sure what i will do with it, i tried to cancel but didn't do it in time, i might just return it or i might put it in the MM.

I loved COD4 and played MW2 a lot online at the time but tbh i want something different now. If i want that kind of game(run and gun if you like) i do still have MW2 and COD4, i do not need a new one! The problem is that the only reason half the people will get this is because it is the new one that most players will migrate to. I ws quite happy to continue playing MW2, and only bought Black Ops because it would have new players and my mates were going to get it.

Oh and i have to lol a bit at people saying the MW games have a great story:eek: What are you used to? What would you consider a bad story?
(btw i feel the same about BF3, the SP in that is ****)

Anyway i shall give a completely unbiased opinion on the game tomorrow and if i enjoy it i shall say so.:)

Im having problems with my DVD drive, can I just enter the key code from the retail version into the activate a game feature in steam and just download it? Or must I install it off DVD?

Only interested in the SP aspect as I wanted to complete my journey with Soap and Price, I would guess I'm over half way and absolutely loving it, so very polished, I've died a lot, but there's been no WTF?! moments like I had in BF3 SP. Considering the well known age of the engine it's based on they have really played to it's strengths and produced some fantastic set pieces and game play, they've even managed to pull off the grand scale of WW3 which is something I felt BF3 SP somehow missed.

For the record I really enjoy BF3 MP but was disappointed with the unpolished and mediocre SP (though still not as bad as MOH) and it's unlikely I'll really put any time in to MW3 MP as it's not really my thing.
