****Official Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 thread****

It's emerging that MW3 has made $400m in the first 24hrs of going on sale. Biggest entertainment launch in history. Not too shabby eh.

This is proof that Activation hacked into steam and PSN to use every1's card details to mass purchase COD: Modern failure 3!

Easiest $400m i've ever seen any1 make.... Two years in the making... HA.... A weekend on the p*** with lads while using COD4 mod tools could have created the same game!

that guy reviewing it what a tard

fov is same as its always been since cod launched

its same as about every other fps from default what a donut :p i cant not die its my fov booo boo hoo stfu lol :D

fov is a good thing to change but come on . it will probably be changed or allowed to be changed in near future anyway

I haven't completed the MW3 campaign yet, I got bored of it. Whereas I did the MW2 campaign in one day (half a day). Glad others are enjoying it but I found it meh - the voice acting in particular is weak compared to MW2 which takes you out of the game.

Better than the Black Ops campaign though (which isn't difficult!)

I know this is a 'Moan at MW3' thread but can i get some advice pls.

Basically I have a question about optimizing the sound setting for MW3.
I have an Asus Xonar D1 and Sennheiser PC360 and want to improve the positional audio.

In the audio options do i set the audio output to 5.1 or stereo? Also what settings do i need to apply to the ASUS Xonar software to aid in positional audio via Dolby headphone.

Reason I'm asking is that i still have issues with some of the positional audio, in that I can't place the location source.

I would like to know this also. I am using Sennheiser HD558 though. Everything just seems to sound kinda flat. The voices seem ridiculously quiet as well sometimes. I'm gonna experiment with mine on 7.1 in my Xonar D1 control panel with Dolby Headphone at the moment, to see if it improves.

I LOVED MW1 and MW2 single player campaign. I played MW1 single player quite late, so played MW2 straight after and it was a good continuation. Black Ops was a disappointment; it just wasn't very polished - much like WAW was too. MW3 feels just like that as well, and granted I'm still very early on in the game, I am finding it very dull and predictable. It's just not engaging enough like the previous two - it feels like a rather lazy continuation from MW2, and yeah I would even go as far as to say it feels like an addon rather than a true sequel. And definitely feel that a big part of the disappointment so far, was the standard MW1 and 2 set. I'm gonna persevere with it and hope it gets a little better.

I've had some fun with it so far. Glad I paid £18 and not £30something for it.:o

No surprise really......

Prepare For The Imminent Map Pack Announcement

Has Activision smuggled old Call of Duty maps in to Modern Warfare 3? It would appear so, with the site MP1ST diving in to the record-breaking shooter's code to discover old Modern Warfare 1 and 2 maps hiding away. Activision has made an absolute killing on Call of Duty map packs - and we can only blame ourselves for paying those extortionate prices - and it would appear a retro themed chunk of content is in the pipeline for MW3.

So, what old CoD maps have Activision smuggled in? Well, Modern Warfare fans will be pleased to see the likes of Crash, Strike and my personal overall favorite CoD map, Overgrown, hidden in code-form within MW3. The Modern Warfare 2 map, High Rise, has also been discovered. Both Crash, Strike and Overgrown were remastered for release on MW2, so it's a little disappointing to see Activision ostensibly pulling the same trick twice.

Why not release some Black Ops maps? On the subject of maps, Modern Warfare 3 is seriously lacking in solid, well-designed offerings. The staff fallout appears to have robbed Infinity Ward of their usually keen eye for map building, with MW3's map a mess of scattered landmarks and choke-points, in stark contrast to the polished work of MW2 and even Black Ops. After playing this for a couple of days i do enjoy it, the maps are.... well there a bit meh, they seem to be its weakest point by far, fov needs an option to adjust but thats just by the by and there really should be Dedicated servers with achievements enabled.

All in all nothing that i wasnt expecting so im really not disappointed with the title, i do find my self having to force my self to play it, maybe it will just click, maybe not. one thing i know is i will be buying no map packs, and this will be my last pre order, i think they need some new life in the series, for me it isnt about the engine, its not about perks and kills streaks, or graphics the single thing that turns me off the game is how consolised it is. smaller and smaller maps and nerfed online server service.

The one hope i have is that because of how heavily based it is on MW2 there may be a chance of the dedicated server hack being migrated from MW2.

If it didn't stop people this time it won't stop people next time, anyone with half a brain could have guessed the game would be the same.

I only have 49% of a brain :p

I wasn't expecting a big change but I was expecting a bit more than I got. It seems that the loss of some key IW employees has impacted on the map design in particular.

Oh well, MW2 always was gonna be a tough act to follow. I think the people who worked on the game did a fine job, they obviously put a lot of effort in. It just lacks a bit of the magic and sense of occasion of the last two IW games.
