****Official Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 thread****

Just completed the SP.

Personally I thought it was epic. The story line was pretty amazing and made BF3's look abit pathetic. Absolutely loved the ending, something peaceful about it. The graphics weren't THAT bad either obviously no where near as good as BF3 but beautiful in places. I'm not one of these guys that will stop and inspect a texture under a microscope.

I just want to mention that this is coming from a massive BF3 player.

EDIT;

Oh and the soundtrack was awesome too.

The only problem I have with MW3 is the server setup.I liked the BOps setup where you had servers with rules and you were kicked if you didn't abide by them.
Also if I try to connect to dedicated servers my bt home hub decides it doesn't want to play any more and loses its connection, fine if I join a random game.

one more thing, could someone explain to me what "Glitching" is, seen it mentioned on servers before and I know what most things are but this has me stumped, well, I am old!!

Glitching - well to me it means getting into parts of the map that were not intended for play or using texture holes to see through stuff.

Anything that uses the interaction of your player and the map that wasnt intended.

In Mw3... god knows those crazy eurofags ruin all the good words.. who knows.

After getting this for my birthday and having a go on the MP and SP side of things, have to say I feel Black Ops is probably the superior game. MP is packed with akimbo numpties and god awful pings on the ranked servers and forces you to play on baby mode as you cannot play hardcore to start off with :S

Single player is pretty good fun in short bursts and some of its rather well made, although it brings absolutely nothing new to the previous Modern Warfare game in terms of content.

By the looks of the thread, no one really plays this carp anymore?

just played my first game this morning since lauch day / weekend....omg...epic yawn fest.

Some maps are just camp sniper fests...others just annoying.

I have been on BF3 in between and I still prefer the pace and style of play, Conquest ***.

One question I have is, when you prestige (not there yet, only lvl 60) do your headshot count for your primary weapon get erazed back to zero?
I know in some of the other MW titles, all things (perks /weapons) got wiped after prestige, but your head shot count didn't..anyone confirm for MW3?

This is the 1st FPS i have played since Joint Operations.

Brilliant game but the maps are not a patch on Joint Operations. Those maps were huge!

You could wait a few minutes and stake out somewhere and your heart would race when you see the enemy. Bang. Gone.

On MW3 its just craziness around every corner.

I like it though. Good game.

Just spent another hour giving this game another shot and its just awful. Its so unbalanced theres literally no point in playing it. Too many of the weapons are overkill compared to the starting weapons so new players cannot defend themselves at all. The starting weapons are just plain awful compared to MW2 and Black Ops where you could use them for the entire game right from the start. On this game, you try and get away from them as soon as possible due to how unbelieably ***** they really are.

The multiplayer also suffers from the fact its hosted crap on other peoples machines, giving them a massive advantage. Plus of course its rife with cheating scum, just like the other COD games before it.

First game I genuinely wish I never got...

You can use the UMP45 from the beginning and it is one of the best guns in the game.

I think its ok but not everyone is playing on a level field. The guns get better the longer you play so that gives already experienced players HUGE advantages.

I got the game free with the Corsair headphones so all good here:D

Map pack rumours http://www.callofdutymappacks.com/news/modern-warfare-3-map-pack-1-nostalgic/

As well as some new maps, possibly getting

  • Terminal from Modern Warfare 2 (Set in an Airpot terminal, luggage and planes everywhere, lots of glass too!)
  • Favela from Modern Warfare 2 (The slums of Rio de Janeiro, lots of ground and rooftop battles!)
  • Shipment from Modern Warfare (The smallest Call of Duty Map you’ll ever see! It’s basically as square map with a few shipping containers in the middle! The most intense map ever!)
  • Crossfire from Modern Warfare (A map I personally loved, great for sniping along the large main road and great close quarters combat in this desert town!)

Yup, that's good..old maps..hahahaha..glad i never wasted money on MW3
