** Official Carmageddon: Reincarnation thread **

They MUST make sure that multi-player works correctly this time around.
I used to play LAN games aginst three other's with the last Carmageddon game.
However the clients would get totally out of sync.
Cars would appear as solid concrete when they weren't and vice-versa.

It was an excellent multi-player experience, but badly written.

If they can give me Carmageddon 2 with some updated graphics and working multi-player then I'm there!
 
The original was a classic with very good car physics for the time & looked great compared to other pre-3D card games. The second one had potential and improved some areas, such as having peds in 3D but if I remember it didn't run too well. Think I played the third one (TDR2000) a bit but can't remember it much. I can only really remember the first one, with its epic intro.

My version was bought in the UK and it had regular people and red blood, I never updated it or anything... Was there 2 versions?

Edit: This game really highlighted how great my Voodoo 1 was. Looked far better when running in glide! :D
Completing the game and unlocking the police vehicles was the way forward. Insta-kill!

Mine was red blood and zombies - go figure! My favourite game at the time, both that and number 2. I really hope it comes back with the same playability. Tbh, just awesome graphics would do with exactly the same game!

I never ever finished a race. Remember getting ALL the peds only once, the rest of the time I just destroyed every other competitor!
 
Loved the original, also had/have the splat pack addon. I remember my mate then bought Carmageddon 2 and we had much fun on that too :p

I'm really not sure tbh. I definitely had the 'pedestrian' intro, but it seems there was a zombie version of it too.

Nah it was all about killing the Police 'Supressor' on 1 of the later levels, then wasting everyone on the last few levels after it :p

Lol, I remember doing it several times only to find there was some random ****ing ped in the middle of nowhere.
 
Please please please please PLEASE be just like the original with updated graphics, online features, physics, dynamic landscapes and new vehicles and I'll say no more.*

*£100 says it won't and will be a huge flop.
 
By gum! For the last few weeks to a month I've been wondering why this has never happened.

Can anyone seriously envision Square Enix backing anything like the first 2 games? I'm excited about the countdown, but it's unlikely it will be the Carmageddon we know and love.
