Game is absolutely huge. No idea how many hours I have on this. Anyway to tell on the PS4? The in game day count says 810 game days so far though.

Trade it in mate I got 40 quid for mine only lost a tenner it does not get any better.I picked this up and it started ok but now I’m 2-3 hours in tbh I wish I hadn’t bothered. It’s a rough game with lots of annoying niggles. It’s also pretty boring with awful gun play. Every human enemy is pretty much a machine gun sniper. I’m hoping it gets a bit better so will give it more time but so far it’s a bit meh tbh.

Yes the weapon switching thing can be a pain but it does seem better since the patch, I still sometimes cannot select a throwable item though. Some things that have annoyed me though:
The game frequently changes your weapon - so if you're trying to be sneaky with the crossbow, then decide to throw a rock - the game will happily equip a bloody gun after the rock is thrown; forcing you to have to pick the crossbow again! This has caught me out a few times now, and you really have to pay attention to that bug/feature, or you'll end up blowing your stealthy approach.
The AI is pants, utter pants - and they fall foul of one of my pet peeves too - they are psychic!!! You can be in the dark, hiding in a bush, and take out one of their buddies - only to get near pin-point shots raining down on you from their mates. The 'freakers' aren't as bad - but interactions between them and enemies can often be comical - using rocks to draw them in, they can almost be standing next to an armed guard before either notices each other
It's just not as polished as you'd expect from a Sony flagship title to me, which is quite a shame - I can see me persisting, but it's likely to be a game that I play in dribs and drabs; as it'll bet repetitive and dull pretty fast.
It's not really meant to be a hardcore shooting game, I know the aiming is quite loose but I think it's supposed to be. I personally find the AI OK, if they see you they'll keep laying fire down in your last know location, if you creep away they certainly don't automatically follow you if you're out-of-sight.It’s also pretty boring with awful gun play. No offence but if you have already traded it in how do you know it doesn't get any better? Seems like half the gaming press has done the same, given it a little time and decided it's **** too soon.Trade it in mate I got 40 quid for mine only lost a tenner it does not get any better.

I actually haven't experienced any AI problems, nothing like you have, not even once, weird!

I don't know about that. We all like different things at the end if the day.
The reviewers I tend to trust / go to all seem to mirror the same thoughts in that it actually starts well enough but gets worse the further you get into it mostly for the repetitive nature of the activities?also the hordes get introduced much later in the game from what I understand, or you aren't equipped to handle them until late game? Which is odd as it's been the driving force for the games advertising since it was announced.

The game has numerous hordes over each section of the map that you can tackle at any point you like. You can see how many on the map screen for each section.
story based hordes are late game
I'm guessing they have a LOT of bugs to iron out and will be doing so for some time, the AI stuff will probably be last, or like you say if at all...Yeah, I noticed the patch (1.06 iirc) seems to have improved the daft weapon switch issue, or at least, made it a bit more tolerable. It seems that performance has also improved a bit, the camera movement seemed noticeably more responsive on the PS4 Pro.
That fun an games with AI, happened at a camp near a railway - I appreciate that doesn't exactly narrow it down I cleared out a a logging camp last night, and a bunch of 'raiders' turned up - they were deaf as posts; as I was able to run up behind and stab them, without them noticing Sadly, crappy AI never seems to get sorted in games - I guess it's simply too much work to improve on it
I'm surprised by this tbh, it starts slow but gets better especially as the story unfolds. I just never know when to trust review sites any more, Metro Exodus was given glowing reviews but it ran like a bag o **** for me and many others, the AI was terrible (spotting you in pitch black for example) yet, the reviewers loved it.I don't know about that. *shrug*
Metro exodus is awful the first introduction and gameplay great. Then it slides down a massive hill where AI hits you from 1000m with a shotgun or they just bounce around everywhere just felt off putting enough for me to stop playing. The odd visual quirks too where you can see its a console port.I'm not sure I think I metro was mixed enough, but I still picked it up and regretted it pretty much right away
It's all just opinions at the end of the day
