*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Quick bump. Anyone know of any news on this? The release date has changed to TBC for the PC version on the main preorder sites. Console version remains unchanged but the PC one has dropped its date. Cant see anything on the official site either. Really hope they dont drop the PC one back in favour of console sales (at least give the pc a chance to get some sales rather than just write it off....).

They've delayed it because SE's other releases haven't done so good, so i think they were trying to fix those (namely ff14), sort out patches, DLC etc. before they concentrate on their next release - DE3

Christ, I wish people would stop whining about graphics. The game looks great - any minor failings in graphical perfection would be vastly overshadowed by the quality (or lack) of the gameplay. Do people not stop to think that if developers didn't spend so much time pandering to this drive for the best looking games, they may spend more time on the gameplay itself?

Bottom line - if the first thing you think of asking when you hear about a new game is 'what are the graphics like?' you need to punch yourself in the face and keep quiet. There are bigger problems facing the platform than your latest superficial whinge.

Whats up your ass? I'm fed up with the monkeys who run around shouting at everyone who likes nice looking games to go along with enjoyable gameplay. I've put in 200 hours on Mount and Blade, which doesn't particularly look great, but has fantastic gameplay - it had a team of 9 people working on it and a budget that stretched as far as peoples donations - so am i really a graphic whore?
This is a AAA title though, from one of the biggest publishers in the games industry, so I expect nice graphics. It's 2011, and games are capable of looking nice so whats the problem with wanting them to? Sick of elitist prats like yourself who cry that people should only care about gameplay. You fail to comprehend that a game should be satisfying as an overall package. This means gameplay and graphics should be taken into consideration, not one or the other.

As it is, it doesn't even look as good as Dead Space 2 aesthetically.

There's a big difference between not giving a crap how a game looks and not judging a game that doesn't score perfectly in looks. This game looks great - if you're disappointed by how it looks, you're really missing an important point. Perhaps it's not visually perfect, perhaps it doesn't push boundaries with system-breaking graphic demands, but it easily looks good enough to represent the developer's name, and certainly isn't lacking anything graphically that'd turn me off buying it. If you want the most realistic flashy visuals, buy a film.

Wanting ingame visuals that look as good as ME2 and DS2 isn't asking much. The CGI and pre-rendered footage looks fantastic, however the graphics during gameplay aren't as good as either of these two titles. The low-res textures, especially on the people during the conversations, are awful.

"Awful"? Really, truly terrible? Well, that's fine - you and your opinion can stay on that side of the fence, and me and mine will stay right over here.

Yes. Awful. Truly terrible. They look 5-6 years old. The below images are HD btw, not that they look it. Pathetically low-res textures tbh.
