*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Seriously mate, i'm not posting against you but you happen to have picked on something that i consider to be one of the strengths tbh and a great feature:)

I have the reticule turned off completely so that i can't aim at all without ironsights and a lasermod(but i don't get in to many fights as i'm a sneaky character)

Should have more than 1 saved game file (unless you lost the lot) it saves backup copies of last autosave and last quick save IIRC.

Just had my first freeze that I had to ctrl-alt-del out of. Just finished killing the first boss on my 2nd play through and the cutscene after was just black with no audio either, although there was subtitles still going on. After pressing space and selecting skip it just locked up. It's a bit of a shame too as up until then I have had flawless performance on my rather old machine (8800gt, 2GB DDR2, 2 GHz C2D)

Just rescued hostages, using the pistol mainly and im having more fun with it all now.

With starting to get used to the game it is getting better.

Btw what augments are good to go for for my style of play i.e shoot first. :p I was thinking of extra inventory, aiming reticle one that reduces reticle expanding when moving or somit.

Just rescued Josie and hacked the comp in that room, lol the Nigerian scam emails even make it to deus ex. :D

Aiming reticle while moving probably isn't worth bothering with unless you're playing on the easiest difficulty and plan to run n gun just as much as use cover. Handy for boss fights more than anything else.

If you plan on using automatic weapons then recoil reduction, inventory size and armour will be a must. If you plan on semi-auto then none of those will be too high priority and you might want Cloak, energy regen and radar improvement.

Atm i use machine pistol, its a little better than normal pistol as in fires quicker and more rounds. Not sure what the other weapons are other than what i have atm.

I used one of the augments for inventory, i now have a new point to spend.

I do tend to use cover a lot more than i thought i would and have done a few take downs without firing tho with multiple ppl in room its tricky to get away with it but i try and when it goes to pot i cover and shoot the rest.

Semi auto i probably would take the route, what kinda weapons should i look out for for that type?

So for my 2nd point which shall it be, inventory again or somit else.

Edit - This game reminds me a lot of max payne, anyone else think that, especially that warehouse/factory starting level?

Just completed it - got the achievement for no alarms! :) not for no kills though?? Seems the Tranq gun can sometimes kill people... which I only just discovered... so lame!
)

you sure?

i killed someone by mistake once by emping a robot, it;'s self destruct killed an unconscious guy.

I got pacifist first time and ghost but not fox :(

Since when was rate of fire the deciding factor of a weapons effectiveness ><

Most of the weapons have something to bring. Pistol is godly with a silencer, laser targetting and armour piercing mods. Revolver is deadly with explosive rounds. Shotgun packs a punch with burst fire. Etc. I've been headshotting everyone with the pistol this playthrough with help from Cloak now and then.

I love this game. Anyone noticed how it has MANY influences from other games/movies? The part in the hanger bay with the 2 large robots reminded me of 'Ghost in the Shell' a lot.

Took me a while to work out a tactic for Namir, got him in the end though. No Typhoon use there! (also didn't have any emp grenades, i never have)

Boss fights are terrible and by far the worst aspect of the game imo.

Yeah. They are definitely the worst bit of the game. Still, at least they aren't too long :) Pretty good length overall for when they occur in the game.

I thought they were a nice challenge. Namir was a pain in the arse, though that might just have been down to the 'trap' that I could see coming a mile away and walked straight into it anyway :p

The grenade spam from the first was a little stupid but I think the second boss was the most fun.

They certainly were different. Still my least favorite bit, but well conceived. And I do like that they get noticeably harder as the game progresses. It was a nice way to deal with the characters and give them a fitting end :)
