*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

DLC announced:

The Deus Ex: Human Revolution conspiracy grows deeper in The Missing Link. During lead character Adam Jensen’s quest for the truth in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, he mysteriously vanishes for three days. Where was he? What did he find out? The Missing Link reveals it all.

"We are very excited for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans to be able to complete Adam’s journey in the game with The Missing Link DLC," said David Anfossi, producer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution at Eidos-Montreal. "Gamers will be able to experience a vulnerable side of Adam like never before, which gives the overall game a whole new dimension. The Missing Link propels players into compelling gameplay, beginning with Adam being stripped of his use of augmentations, new, visually stunning environments and the continuation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s conspiracy rich story.”

After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected. As Adam, gamers will befriend new, mysterious allies and fight ruthless enemies to discover what was happening in the shadows during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution!

3 "hub"'s of content where cut from the release:

Upper Heng Sha, the streets of Montreal, India; you won't find these places in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. At least, not anymore.

Speaking to industry publication EDGE, Eidos Montreal art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête and lead game designer Frank Lapikas spilled the French Canadian equivalent of beans on the wealth of content cut from the final version of the game.

If only they took longer to develop.

just finished it after 42 hours. i like to sneak around.

really satisfied for the most part. end boss was a little easy on medium but since i enjoyed the game mechanics ill play through on hard soon.

with this engine thief 4 can't lose.

Hard freezing really doing my head in now. Dx11 or dx9, doesnt matter, less freezing with dx9 granted. Have had around 15 of them in total.
Tried re-installing, tried drivers 11.5, 11.6, 11.7 and 11.8 (ATI ofc)
Get a continuous loading screen somethimes under dx9, have to alt tab and end process and load the game up again.
Just one of the unlucky ones i guess.
Loving the game inbetween the hard freezes tho.

think this is an ATI issue , my friend runs a 480gtx without any issues

:( sounds like some of the stuff they cut would have been memoriable locations too - one of the things I felt was missing from HR - most of the maps were quite forgettable whereas most of the original games maps were distinct.

Same happened to the original game as well tho - moonbase and frontier sections were cut out, moonbase bit atleast was quite developed and interesting.

hmm yeah there are a few too many corporate offices i feel.

ATI issues from the get go. Crashing issues i might add. Patch didnt really do anything apart from crashes at start up and loading times.

Buy a lovely shiny new 6950 for Deus EX (will add another for BF3 soon) and i cant get the game to run as it should.

I think about how much i would be really enjoying this game, without these issues :)

I played on a 6950 and had no issues, apart from maybe slight stuttering occasionally but i'm not sure as it was barely noticeable so probably isn't what other people are mentioning. Certainly didn't spoil the enjoyment in the slightest

I had one BSOD as well, but that was an ongoing problem with my system which i have since fixed

# A frequent issue for AMD/ATI hardware users that can cause the game to crash on startup.
# Improvements to loading speed. The speed increase depends on machine spec and settings, but loading time improvements of over 50% have been measured on some machines.

Everyone gets the stuttering (some more severe than others) and i dare say for most ATI users, they dont experience crashes.
But when you start trying to plug holes with patches, a few new ones appear. Doesnt help everyone having different PC setups either.

Normally do a fresh O/S install every 6-8 months but i will wait until i get BF3 before i do that.

Might go back further with drivers, just a pain in the butt to go down that route.

I'm really enjoying this game. I'm running it on a 6950 and not had any of the problems other people have reported. Played hours of this so far, gone for a regular play through with a mix of stealth and regular blood filled violence.

Im in MOntreal near end of level I think. (SPOLIER: At the bottom of the lift thing chasing after that tv women in the basement secret area)

How long left in game. 50% completed?

Im getting a bit bored as I have not enjoyed this level too much tbh...Its getting tricky now as I am playing stealth and equipped so but lots of bots and baddies here.
