*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

I run on a Core2 Quad with 4GB of RAM and an SSD (my Steam games are installed to a separate mechanical drive but I use symbolic links to actually store the game on C:) and experience 'stuttering' only for a few seconds in a couple of places in the Detroit hub. These seem to be choke points where they must be loading in new parts of the city. If I sprint through these choke points, the games stutters immensely. Not enough to annoy me mind.

On the other hand I was stuck with an annoying bug earlier. I'm trying to do a non-lethal playthrough but every time I took out a certain gang member while he was sitting on a chair he would die for some reason. I had to lob a cardboard box into the room to get him to stand up and then shoot him with a dart. Hilarious times.

Anyone else get the feeling like at some parts of the game things happened without your input? What I mean is...

Like near the end where you need to talk to Sarif who has barricaded himself. Depending on which way you decide to end the complex, you will either hear his distress call from the machine room and get the objective, or you'll just get the objective randomly :/

I felt it was too easy to miss storyline sections. I understand that is the peril of making a game 'non-linear' but still, it sometimes didn't feel quite 'right'.

Anyone else feel like it is a travesty that you cannot put markers on the map? I wanted to mark sewer entrances on my map manually so I wouldn't forget where they were but the bloody game doesn't seem to have a feature for it.

Got to point im ****ed off now .< Cant hack the Security Terminal in Shanghai justice side quest it just counts down too quick i have no worms or nukes, so for first time in the game i need the code if any one has it.

Malik has asked me to do it so gotta do it to progress the side quest :( EDIT::: Ignore after 14th try i did it! :D :D Hacked my way in yay :D

I keep seeing this pic appearing everywhere, but the thing is....and here is the thing.....there is no TANK build!!

I went full hack and stealth and never bought the armour upgrades like it seems EVERYONE else.....well okay my second run through I got the armour upgrades and....well what else is there for the tank build? upgrading the inventory is what I did on my stealth build, you have to do that...

What about the aiming....well it is kind of stupid because you fight mostly in short corridors behind boxes...like the stealth build....

So basically just go hacker and instead of the energy or sprint options, just get the armour

I did the same and have never found myself in the situation where I cannot or find it difficult to progress. You can always hack the alternative route, disable the robot, sneak invisible or EMP the thing. By the end of the game I had all augmentations unlocked except for some retarded sprinting and recoil reductions. TBH once you unlock invisibility in full game becomes way to easy.
The only stupidity are the bosses. So you go for all stealth, but still have to shoot out bosses? Makes no sense. The last boss I just didn't get at all - I just stood there and watched it die on it's own.

Deus Ex:HR like the first offers the illusion of multiple ways to complete the game, but honestly there is only really one route either choosing to use a vent, sneaking like Snake or gun blazing.

What annoyed me was having all these cool weapons, but having no real need for them.

You can do the whole game with the silenced pistol, revolver with explosive rounds, shotgun and some mines.

Why did I need the plasma gun??? I mean WTF was it for because by the time you have it, it has no use

Typhoon is imbalanced, the bit were the CEO of Tai Yong goes into a panic room and an army comes into the room? One shot them all instantly with Typhoon.

Robots? Hacking the terminal takes too long, one shotted instantly with Typhoon.

Makes a mockery of any stealth or other tactics once you've got it at level 2 :p

Found that a bit annoying, the armor upgrade isn't that great at all - the original game had several different armor options :( whole game seems to have been focused around stealth but the odd bit thrown in suddenly where you need full on combat :(

strange did not kill anyone in game and did not get pacifist achievement ;/ oh well all that trying

All that has to happen to fail the achievement is for someone to die while you're near them. So if you stun someone, and they fall backwards into a toxic bog, that counts as killing them. They set off a mine while running towards you, that counts as you killing them. You hack a security terminal, turn all the turrets and bots to your side; every kill those turrets or bots make counts as you killing them.

Yeah, it's a difficult achievement to get. At least boss fights don't count as kills.

Anybody that you knock out is your responsibility. What I mean is...

If you tranquilised a guard and, say, he falls into the sewers, he's dead and it is your kill - despite the fact you never intended for this.

There are other cases where this can happen too :)

Howabout that purity dood who was hacking by acting as a host but then got fried through no fault of your own? (Cutscene) ?
