There's more to it than just that though...

Eep that's annoying, I hope my sleeping sewer rats don't spontaneously die too :(

Still thinking the sofa kills people. I was in a warehouse and two guards were sitting on two sofas watching TV. Hitting one of them anywhere with the tranq gun killed them. So again I had to break the game a bit to take him out. I snuck up behind one sofa and blind fired the cattle prod (or whatever it's called) and when the other guy got up to investigate blind fire the prod again to take him out.

Just finished it and really enjoyed it. Went the sneaky route for most of it then started a shooting spree near the end :) I didn't bother with the typhoon as it looked totally OP. Ended up with 50+ nukes and halts but didn't even have all the hacking skills maxed out.

Ugh why didn't I heed the advice of Admiral Ackbar!? :(

Yep, stuck fighting Namir with pretty much my pistol and no reticule steadying augs :\

:mad::(

I did him with a pistol with no reticule mods or armour... just run to each pillar (he moves around in a circle) - as soon as you see him unload a few shots - when he chucks nades - run to next pillar, cover, wait, shoot, repeat.

Didn't take any damage!

Game is too easy imo. Playing on hardest setting and it's too easy to simply trip an alarm and then gun down all the guards as they come running.

That's not to say I don't enjoy it, but it would be nice to have the feeling that it's imperative that you stay undetected, now and again.

I'm doing a ghost playthrough on hard and it's tough. I don't mind killing the odd person if absolutely necessary now since realizing that killing during the prologue bit counts against the pacifist achievement, but if I can snake my way though it, I will.

That was quite a 'OH SNAP!' moment for me.

Then I reloaded an older save and dragged a turret down with me and left it to do the dirty work. :D

Finished the game, the endings were a bit underwhelming and I hated all the boss fights, but other than that I found it really enjoyable, especially when you get through an area completely undetected. I'll do another no kills/no alerts run in the future as I missed out on two side quests.

Just finished the game, took about 40 hours or so. Somehow managed to get Pacifist even though I know I killed some people with chucking EMP grenades at robots and bursting through walls and breaking their neck. Missed out on the sneaky achievment, not sure where I missed that one. *shrugs*

Good game, thoroughly enjoyed it. The 3 miniboss fights were pointless, and easily cleared with the Typhoon - just the first one gave me any trouble. But other than that it was great. The made a good stab at giving you options on alternative approaches, but I think the straight combat option would be less fun. I had too much junk in my Inventory at the end, mostly a load of grenades I never used.

Don't think there's much replayability in it.

Also just finished. Put around 30 hours in exploring thoroughly. It's a decent game has some great qualities and in some area even improves on the original but its just so heavily flawed or lacking in key areas.

Stealth for example, works well in practice but isn't really challenging nor immersive because the AI sentries are just so utterly braindead you don't have to be careful.

Was anyone else expecting a scene out of Superman 3 at the end of the game? fairly disappointed with the final fight

So why are the 'must have' augmentations for each of you then? I did a stealth build and only got my hands dirty for the bosses, so for me they have been:

Definite Must Have
- Hacking up to level 5 (miss out on so much of the game without this)
- Ability to lift heavy objects (just v useful for providing cover for yourself)
- Walk silently
- Social enhancer (just fun)
- Extra energy bars and recharge rate (not essential but very useful)

Nice To Have
- Invisibility (nice but energy intensive and really not necessary most of the time)
- See enemies through walls (nice, but rarely that useful)
- Stealth enhancers (useful but sneaking easy without them)
- Punch through walls (rarely needed)
- Typhoon (useful but you can do without it)
- Fall from any height, land silently etc

Don't Need
- Armour upgrade
- Recoil upgrade
- All the lung upgrades (true to the original lol)
- Hacking fortify and stealth add ons (hacking just not hard enough to need it)

SPOILER

I didn't kill anyone but I still didn't get pacifist. The only instance where people died was when I turned off life support on the last boss. Is the last boss doable without killing anyone?

Well just did the 2nd boss at 25 hours...

Here are some hints as I found this boss too easy.

Because I read he is hard from people I upgraded my armor to the max, I also upgraded my typhoon to the max. Basically, at the start when the boss charged me I shot my weapon at them until they reached me I then hit Typhoon, you take no damage and you hurt this, I basically did this 3 times shoot at them until they charged me and they I used my typhoon, took no damage and killed her easy.

My essentials would be:
Smash through walls (it pays for itself)
Lift Heavy objects (also pays for itself)
Typhoon (purely for boss battles and robots)
Walk Silently - at least the crouch one for mugging people.
Social Enhancer
Hacking (including the turrets to disable them, never saw a robot I could disable)
Hacking Stealth
Inventory upgrades
Radar upgrades (not mark & track or last known position)
Superjump
Recharge speed upgrade

Nice to haves:
Lung upgrades (there's a few paths you can use if you have them)
Armor upgrades (helps with bosses)
Running upgrades
Safe Fall
Extra energy cells
