*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

with the bosses it's all about the right weapon for the job:

Barret (1st): use the stun gun stops him in his tracks after each hit giving you enough time to reload and hit him again rinse and repeat till death

Federova (2nd): Wait for her to charge you Typhoon and then hit with your most powerful weapon rinse and repeat

Namir (3rd): Cover smart vision then hit him with the Laser rifle until death

Zhao/Hyron(last): Laser rifle directly at her kills her in seconds no need to go aound the houses with the security door opening nonsense as Laser rifle punches through all walls including her personal shield! alternatively you could go round the houses and tbh any weapon can do the job as she is whay too easy!

Which is great if you have any interest in using a Stun Gun, Typhoon or Laser Rifle. There will always be some weapons which are hugely superior but you don't need to actually use them.

1st boss = Any quick aiming weapon, grenades/mines and lots of running up and down the area. He's just a glass cannon, faster you kill him the safer you'll be, even if it costs you all your explosives.

2nd boss = Grenades/mines, lots of running away, electrical resistance (for when the power systems blow), when shes recharging, Smart Vision to keep track and chase her down.

3rd boss = Smart Vision, high jump for easy movement, any weapon and grenades/mines.

4th boss = I honestly don't know. I've just shut down the system and stood there for 2 minutes while the floor was being electrified and you eventually win.

The first boss is the only one where your weapon selection really matters as the area is too damn small. The other bosses its down to your aug selection and were actually quite well designed, they just lack alternative methods of victory. Its all about preparation. Take the second boss, I couldn't seem to find anywhere to jump on to to avoid the electrified floor but I survived by bouncing around and using Hypostims (which instantly boost health to 150), running away and hoping to pull her into Mines when she charged me and chasing her down (using either smart vision or watching for the ripples) when she goes to recharge. They aren't something you should be able to beat in 20 seconds without lots of luck, which is why the 1st boss is a bit meh.

Why the F can't I hack something without standing up? I want to hack this terminal to control the robot, but as soon as I do I stand up and the whole room sees me. My invisibility doesn't lack long enough to hack it either.

Really annoying.

Anybody else having problems with microstutter/loading in outside areas? Seems to be a thread for it on the Eidos forums but wondering if anybody had a solution?

No solution as far as I know. I think it will take a patch to fix, in order to raise the VRAM limit...

The game enforces a fairly strict limit on VRAM usage - stays below 400Mb for the most part, even at 2560*1600 with AA. So, as you move around the map, data needs to be periodically shifted in and out of the video memory. The stuttering is paging as new data is loaded into the GPU VRAM.

...as an aside, this effect is very similar to what you will encounter if you have insufficient VRAM on your card. In this game we're effectively all using cards with <500Mb of VRAM!

Expecting a lot of DLC for thise considering how much they left out. Hope it isn't just a money grab.

Yeah I'm worried that'll turn out to be the case. The first DLC info makes it sound like it'll just be a small mission with the intention of adding 'respec' when what they should actually be working on is full hubs. Though considering they've already filled in the story I really don't see how they can add anything significant into it.

Ok been playing for 8 hours now and ive come to point where im really stuck on what to do. Its the Searching for proof mission where you have to go through the Pangu. Here are some pics as it would be hard to explain where i am.

Any help on what to do?

If that's where I think it is, there's actually a vent at the bottom that you can get to from a control room with two guards in. You can't miss it. Alternatively, if you have the Icarus Landing System augmentation, just jump :D

Also, that isn't where you need to go to progress (unless you have the aforementioned aug that is). In the room with the button to move the walkway, there's a staircase on your right (when facing the button and walkway that is).

Cheers... 2 GB 6950 so I don't think that's the problem =/

Guess I'll just have to wait for a patch

Yup thats the place. Either you dodge the cameras then head down through the vent below and bypass all the security. Walk through the lasers with cloak. Kill everyone and all the security bots. Or drop down using Icarus and bypass most the security.

Going well so far. Just reached Hengsha, no kills, no knockouts, every ghost and smooth operator bonus. 1st boss was surprisingly easy. went in with 7 mines and 2 frag grenades, only used 3 of them and 50 combat rifle ammo.

Tip for the first boss, gas and explosive cannisters. You start by one of each, gas to stun then explosive, repeat 3-4 times and he's dead. stupidly easy and you don't waste grenades.
