Unfortunately, any situation where theres an alarm panel it is always far more trouble to shut down the panel unseen than to either completely ignore them or kill them all first with a silenced weapon and THEN shut down the panel for the exp...

Takedowns are very glitchy when it comes to Ghost though. If the enemy spots you even for a microsecond you lose Ghost.

Did you use the tranquiliser gun at all (that was bugged originally and did actually kill some people)? And for Foxiest - what actually affects that? If a turret/camera sees you (when they say suspicious) have you failed it?

No, I used takedowns most of the time and the stun gun when I couldn't do a takedown.
I ignored the tranq rifle on reading about it being bugged.

The only time I used anything else was on the boss fights.

Bit irritating really, as I loaded up the inventory with so many mines/grenades and stacked ammo for the typhoon, peps, heavy rifle and pistol, only to have most of it just sit there unused. :/

Hmm so something like the quest where you have to take out 2 drug dealers isn't doable if you want to go unnoticed? As taking one out leads to them being alarmed?

Those 2 drug dealers don't have an alarm system so you cannot lose Foxiest of the Hounds.
There are many ways to take them both out without being detected. Using a stun/tranq on one then instantly using a takedown on the second. A silenced pistol shot to the head will instakill and you can easily kill both without being seen. Reflex Booster will let you takedown both together. And the old favourite, a single crossbow bolt from the side should penetrate enough to kill both in 1 shot (in theory, I've only tried that at the end but it worked there).

Problem with Ghost is, you can lose it even if you shoot an enemy in the face when he can't see you initially. If you try the 'remain undetected in DRB territory' quest you can see just how dodgy the detection mechanics are.

In similar situations, before getting the 2 in 1 takedown augmentation, it's a case of takedown one and stun the other (until you can load up more battery bars).

Yeah theres the risk of missing out on ghost in some cases because of the second guy seeing you, but it's not that big a deal - it's not like you need the exp from it, and getting it once is enough to net the achievement.

Iye I'm not that bothered about getting Ghost for every quest (though would be nice!) I just want to make sure I don't ruin Foxiest by making people 'alarmed'. If Foxiest purely means the noisy alarms, thats great :).

It does... There are only a few alarmed areas, and as long as you don't trigger these then you're fine. Be careful hiding bodies though, especially if you're going to be sneaking past some guards rather than clearing every room. A stray patrol can spot a body after you've left the area and sound an alarm.

On my second playthrough atm, hardest difficulty, going for pacifist, but not foxiest of the hounds as i'm really clumsy :P

Was anticlimax the first time around, can only echo everyone sentiments here. It captured the spirit of the original at the start, but just tapered off towards the end.

Completed it tonite, got the Pacifist achievement, but i'd set off alarms, so no foxiest.

Also noted that some people did die, someone was definately killed when i hit an explosive barrel at someone with the PEPS gun, but i guess that doesn't count for the achievement.

Much better to do Foxiest without actually fighting anyone. Sneaking through areas without a single enemy spotting you is far more entertaining than painstakingly using takedowns and hiding everyone just in case.

Yeah that is satisfying.
Only trouble is if you try to get the 50 takedowns and 100 unconcious achievements at the same time - need to make an effort of knocking out a few people every now and then to keep it ticking over! :D

What a lot of people don't know is that ghost and smooth operator is not available on every mission and it's also dependant on what course of action you take . Example when you have to go to the body in the morgue if you sneak in you can get ghost and smooth operator but if you talk to wayne at the front desk and he lets you in there is no ghost or smooth operator available to get because no sneaking is required.

Just thought i'd share in case anyone was unsure because it stumped me at first trying to get GH and SO on some missions where dialogue can let you progress without needing to sneak around.

I also don't seem to get ghost on some missions where it should be available though. Eg I've just sneaked through baller territory to disable that signal jammer without being spotted, alerting anything or causing any raised awareness states, and nothing.

Yeah some missions don't have them at all, I'll link a list later which tells you what missions have GH and SO available

At what stage in Detroit do you need to choose your weapon loadout?

I have a stockpile of weapons in an alley. I am about to get on the helicopter to go the first boss fight. Will I ever come back to Detroit? I.e should I pick weapons just for the boss fight, or should I pick the weapons I want in the next city, or should I pick weapons for the boss?

I have a lot of cash (knocked out all the chaps in the police station and pilfered their possessions) can I buy praxis points anywhere?

When you pick something up can you rotate it? E.g if you knock a fridge over is there anyway to make it stand vertical again?

Hmm here's a question; if I quick save then kill someone to get an achievement, then reload and don't kill, I can continue for Pacifist? Or does it track them seperately.

Yes you will come back to detroit later in the game but not for a while, also leave your possesions in your hotel room i just feel it's safer

Goto your map and look for something called a L.I.M.B clinic you can buy 2 praxis points from there for 5000 credits each , you can only buy 2 points from each visit to the city so you won't be able to buy another 2 until you come back for the 2nd time later in the game. Praxis points can also be found behind breakable walls, in hidden/hard to reach locations.

When you pick something up can you rotate it? E.g if you knock a fridge over is there anyway to make it stand vertical again?

If you want to try rotate an item back then try to stack it on another object so it falls of the way you want it.

Completed this the other night and IMO it's not the best rps or rpg I've played BUT I loved it all the way though. I think it was the mutliple ways you can do things and the setting which gripped me so much

Yeah the lack of rotating objects is annoying but there isn't much call for it really.

If you're ever going to leave an area and be in a situation where you cannot return it always warns you in the dialogue box with either yes/no or ready/not and an explanation that you cannot return and all sidequests will be cancelled.
